I was wrong. From McNulty's interview it appears that Pog gave the green light to McNulty to attack.
Nice gift from Tadej. Chapeau.

Yeah, the plan was to give McNulty a chance. When Simmons managed to hold on Pog decided to do his things and surge ahead but once Simmons was dropped by McNulty he decided to wait and give him the win.

I don't think Pogacar did it for UAE's image. He wanted to do it out of camaraderie, and perhaps to get his own teammates to stop being so selfish. A wake-up call.
Could be.. or both maybe..

Anyway I like the move.. Fine to gift a win here and there as long is not a monument or grand tour.

I agree with you once again, a completely balanced and solid take from you. Not emotional or lacking perspective at all.

I think McNulty and Pogacar hate each other, and that Pogacar despises McNulty. It definitely looked like Pogacar was super annoyed with him and his work throughout the Ardennes and that he absolutely despises him 😂.
At least I'm giving my opinion (in a opinion forum) without making fun of others like you're doing, and it's not the first time.

You can ignore me, thanks.

Yeah, and those opinions are getting wilder by the day about who the riders supposedly like or not(not other topics) by copmletely made up reasons, thats just weird behaviour nothing else. Just say it with your chest, you despice UAE, thats what it is, which I could completly understand, much better than made up stuff.

Just unfortunate for you that the riders don’t actually feel the same way you do towards eachother which makes it very weird when you do when they dont, surely you gotte see that too..

I agree, but I don't like the recipient .
I guess Narvaez didn't have the strength to attack because after the Tour, he was the one who most deserved it.

McNulty was in great form today and would've won it easily without Pog. He was a logical choice, it seems. It reminded me of some of his great days like Tokyo 2021 or Peyreguades 2022.

He never went to his limit today. I believe he is hiding a magical shape once again. We will have more informations in the TT.
I said the other day that he always struggles to get into shape in the first race after the Tour. He's always struggled in Quebec because of the course, but I think it's mainly because it's always been his first race after the Tour.

I'm sure he'll have a good time trial, but it's going to be hard to beat Remco.

In recent years, McNulty has always been better at the end of the season because that's when he has his space as a leader.

Now McNulty should change his mind and go to Rwanda, he needs another Sivakov

Maybe I'm naive but I think he will win quite comfortably (+30 seconds).

Remco is the best in time trials and is very good at 5% . If Pogacar manages to beat him, it will be very close, especially because he took more risks on the descents.

All of this without having seen the course on television. One thing it´s to see the profile and comments; perhaps when we see it on television, we'll change our minds.

Where comes this myth that Remco is very good at 5%? People talk like he is a world beater in these gradients which he isn't for sure, specially with Vingegaard and Pogacar around.

Liège or San Sebastian. They are short climbs, and with the time trial bike.

Wow Pogacar couldn’t even win today or have strength at the end to sprint, #washed. ;)

He looked good today, definitely looks like he can win the Worlds double if everything falls his way.

Remco is a world beater in gradients close to 0%. I don't remember a TT with a lot of 5% gradients where Remco destroyed the field.

Worth putting into the equation. TT is a niche discipline that requires a lot of focused training. It's not as simple as just pure wattage or raw power.

Im not saying he hasn' focused on it before, because obviously he has done that alot but not to the extent he has in recent months. And that's based on his own words not mine. That will count for something.

I expect a demolishing and would be happy to be wrong.
