Impressive. Schlecks and Contador were very strong back then and put a lot of time on the rest. OTOH Pog was on his own most of the time and still clearly topped them in this combo. When it comes to the record for the combo he set the bar very high. His VAM on Romme was almost 1810 m/h - fast but below his Peyresourde ride (1840+ m/h). Obviously one has to account that just a few minutes after Romme he had to ride Colombiere and save a bit energy for it as well. No record on Colombiere but quite close to it (understandable, it was second half of his "climb").

Pogacar isn't even human so I don't see the relevance of arguing about his "official" nationality, the history of the nation or what their traditional breakfast is.

The point is we just had the extraordinary privilege of watching one of those "good ones", i.e. the memorable category of destructions of the field like Pantani/Lance on the Alpe D'Huez or Riis at Hautacam, i.e. the sort of hilarious massacres of poor hapless rivals we only get to see on old on youtube archive videos with low resolution poor quality broadcasts from the era. This one was in HD & perfect on a large screen. The time gaps are enormous & I bet Carapaz is either going to have nightmares tonight or even laugh a little when replaying the images of Pogacar's violent accelerations to drop him from his wheel.

I timed it myself and his time was 21min35sec. He beat Dan Martins record by 18 seconds.

They were briefly willing participants of the Eastern Bloc, also commonly known as the Soviet Bloc.

And it was, by any Western definition, a communist state. Tito was a revolutionary communist, the governing party was communist. Communist states never described themselves as such, but that doesn't mean they weren't.

But I dropped in to the Clinic to see if any conjecture on how Pogi might be avoiding the controls. Instead I read arguments about geography.? This is when the Clinic lets itself down.

I don't care of he's from planet Mars what would be helpful to know is how he could avoid the doping controls and why he has this advantage compared to his rivals? It is clear most who come here have no clue how the UCI passport works (i.e.; it doesn't detect "substances"). But I don't want to wait 8 years to find out if he gets referred for an adverse finding, by then he has wiped clean Indurain's current 5 straight TdF wins official record and also Armstrong's 7 straight unofficial record.
