*8 riders do not make the race more exciting as SKY will still have the best 8 ...so reduction does not make the race more exciting imo

have more equal teams is what was/is required...not a man less

He's not going to win a stage like this anyway.
Not unless Gaviria makes some tactical mistake, like in 1st stage of TdS. Going after bonus points is probably smarter, because he will still be there in the final km, there will just be always somebody with higher speed than him.
Let's see if somebody will steal the points from gaviria for him in the finish line.
