Thor up with the peloton, fantastic job.

And Andy thinks...I have climbing domestiques that cannot keep up with Hushovd?

BTW how many Saxo riders have rejoined the MJ group. Fuglsang was with Thor not sure about Stewie O'Grady.

Moreau making it a battle for the Polkas...Great ride so far from Van de Walle.

Casar getting back at the front.

Yep. Pamplona stage, 1996. I think there were some 100 Km from Larrau to the finish. The eight strongest guys on Larrau made it to the finish with over 8 minutes on the next group. They ended up being the eight top placed riders in Paris.

If things go right and the favourites who make it alive work together, this could be epic.

But chances are it won't.

Different stage though. 96's Argeles-Pamplona stage was a monster, 260 k IIRC with about 5-6 categorized climbs.

Armstrong, Moreau, Casar, Cuenego, Fedrigo and Van De Walle 3 minutes over the MJ group.

Moreau wants Mountain points, so does Fedrigo (To protect Charteau) VDW, Armstrong, Casar and Cuenego all chasing the stage.

Lead Group is now Armstrong, Cunego, Fedrigo, Van de Walle, Moreau and Casar. They seem to be working together now.

5 other in a chase group with Charteau, Horner, and 3 others.

Yellow jersey now 3 min+ behind Armstrong group. They are dropping really fast on the Col du Tourmalet from all the soft pedalling. Even Hushovd doesn't look troubled.

YAWN.

I'm disappointed that none of the GC threats who made the first breakaway could be bothered to attack again when it was brought back. This stage is basically over GC-wise, barring something really spectacular.

Look at Hushovd!!
If he gets the jersey this year, it's well deserved. Gutsy ride. He's got Tourmalet and Aubisque before the first intermediate sprint.

ACF skips the remaining stages seeing as VDB2 is surpassing Evans completely atm

Yes... ACF is crying tiny tears I imagine.

I would say that is plenty ironic. But don't say that more than 3 times or you will cause ACF94 to appear! :p

Ok Thor Hushovd is certifiably insane. If he bridges to Cunego and Armstrong then the question has to be asked, why has he been wasting his time as a sprinter all these years instead of shedding some pounds and going for the GC?
