I will let it slide.

This time.

There were also other/different jokes about him too last year....if you recall (by an Australian lady poster).

Plaza only 14:47 back on overall. At this pace, he's virtual top 10 right now. The peloton shouldn't get too comfortable.

Don't blame it on the riders, blame it on the course. A serious attack would just be plain stupid.

Not really, look at Hinault back in the 80s, lost the yellow jersey on an easy stage due to a flat tire. Next day, he sends his whole team to the front and literally breaks the race to pieces on some rolling hills.

Saxo just doesn't have the guts or the strength to do something like this.

Right... I was kind of hoping that we'd see the same thing today seeing as what happened yesterday. Guess not...

Fugalsang maybe not as strong as they hoped, and minus Frank, I guess they don't feel that strong. And Cance last year seemd to be much stronger in the lead ups to the climbs.

Think the heat hurts the bigger guys like Cance more than others, maybe.

Perhaps they could have enhanced this stage - in its current form - if they'd done it after tomorrow's rest day. But then again, which contenders/DS would think they could gain time with a 70km flat after a HC.

They could have shortened the stage with 60km after the last col and 20 before, taking out the Peyresourd. A quick an dirty ~110k of nasty climbs.

Amazing that Hushovd is still in there - and was even on the attack earlier. Even if Petacchi ends up with the green jersey no one can accuse Hushovd of going down without a fight.

Horner can move up a very long way here on GC, 15 minutes or so down at the start so good luck to him.

What, so you want one of the favorites to attack hard and survive alone for 60km of flat? Different situation.

Thor might get the green jersey again after this stage. If peloton catches Casar, and Konovalovas waits for Thor and help him in the sprint for 8th or 9th place.

Judging from the fact that they had their entire team sans Andy dropped on the first climb, I'd say it was the latter.

well mine was post #395 and I thought (at the time) it was quite original, albeit, not the 1st joke about Fedrigos schnoz.

Probably not, Cunego is the fastest sprinter while Fredrigo will be the most likely to attack and stay away on the flats.
Fedrigo will eat Cunego in a sprint. Barredo isn't too bad.
They'd better hope Sandy Casar doesn't get back on, either.
Lance is about 4th or 5th in that bunch.

God, it's like Chinese water torture, again.

Gap almost 10 min now. Plaza should enter Top 5 if it keeps growing.

In general or just based on their current form? Just wondering I'm not really sure.
