Previously there was Serena coming out of the drug testing pool.

Then in the summer there was Serena tucking into the weight loss drugs.

Now there is Serena re-entering the drug testing pool.

It really doesn't pass the smell test, but as the GLP-1 drugs aren't on WADA's banned list they'll be no need to retreat to a panic room.

Shame this option wasn't open to Bananito back in the day.

GLP-1 drugs are on WADA's monitor/assessment list, like tramadol was for a time before banned. However, their expanded use probably make it doubtful they would ban it. There is a variant coming out soon that will promote weight loss without loss of muscle mass; I would think WADA would take a closer look at that one.
And as I mentioned above the optics are very strange (for folks looking at things from out perspective) to see Serena injecting herself in mainstream TV commercials.

If the woman is still stressed out because of an incident 10 years ago that happened to another player, then it's time to hang up your racket.

Former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova says she was at "breaking point after months of physical and mental stress" when she refused a visit from a doping control officer to her home in December 2025.

The Czech player has been charged with refusing a doping test by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) after denying the officer entry to conduct the test.

Players are required to log their whereabouts for an allotted hour each day so that authorities can conduct anti-doping tests outside of competition.

Should the 26-year-old be found guilty of the charge, she could be banned for up to four years. ...
Referring to the visit from the drug tester, she added: "In that moment, fear clouded my judgment and I just couldn't process the situation rationally. After what happened to Petra, we don't take strangers at our door lightly."

Vondrousova's fellow Czech Petra Kvitova, a two-time Wimbledon champion, had to have surgery on her left hand and had a lengthy spell out of the game following a knife attack at her home in 2016.
.The 2023 Wimbledon women's singles champion added that "experts confirmed" she had "suffered an acute stress reaction and generalised anxiety disorder"
