Okay, since politics and various topics are appropriate here, I thought I'd bring up one I hope will get people boiling with anger.

I cannot stand The Beatles. The only one nyc asian escort with any talent was George Harrison, and that nyc asian escorts was minimal. Every year around Christmas I froth at the mouth when I hear that "Simply having a wonderful Christmas time" song by the most talentless of them, Sir Paul McCartney. John Lennon was nyc escort self absorbed and not a very talented song writer. "Imagine" just isn't that great of a song. And Ringo? Please!

The White Album could be amusing nyc escorts when under the influence of certain substances, but all in all, I am just not a fan of their music. In fact, I listen most anything they wrote, and turn it off quickly. Especially anything done by Sir Paul McCartney. He is a real hack.

And you?

My thing is, I understand what people are saying about them, the groundbreaking nature of their rise, etc. I just don't like the way their music sounds. It just doesn't click that switch in me that makes me say "I have got to go get that album/8 track/cassette/cd/MP3."
I just never liked their sound,

there ya go... clear and understandable. simply a description of the way you react to the way they sound.
you should stop right there.

and really do think that they are over hyped in some ways, especially Lennon. I also, regardless of what may be said about me, believe people are entitled to their own opinion even if it is wrong...:D

certainly they were overhyped. if Mozart was alive now HE'D probably be overhyped. we live in the age of hype.
the question is; was/is there talent and something artful about their music.
clearly, there is.

were they the greatest popular music group of all time? of a certain thing, they were, but there are lots of kinds of popular music, each of which have a greatest of all time.

I just saw Avatar. some people are saying it's the greatest movie of all time. it's hard for me to imagine anyone who sees it in IMAX 3D coming away from it say it's NOT the greatest movie of some kind. there's nothing really to compare it to. it's revolutionary, ground breaking, a game changer. but for me personally, i'm not going to call it the greatest because of problems i have with story being shallow, which seems to be my problem with james cameron repeatedly. he's a great filmaker but not much of a writer. but the story is good enough to get across his great artistry. again, he writes he writes in a way that's just appealing enough to cut across all the demographics necessary minimize the risk of spending so much money doing what you see.

my favorite movie of all is "Amadeus". i AM Salierii! or at least, as a musician myself, i understand the concept of trying to replace talent with effort.

still, i'm opposite you. it's the sound of the beatles i love. more often than not, their lyrics are there just to support the music. (yesterday/scrambled eggs). they even tried to warn us off of reading to much into the lyrics, even on the later stuff. the central message of love and tolerance is not an uncommon theme with artists in general.
and obviously sometimes it was just silly yet.. i've got "come together" playing in my head. "here come 'ol flat top..." yet the song and grove are just killer.

Blah, blah, blah. Um...I have known, personally, musicians from every range of that scale. Multi-millionaires to a guy who plays guitar on the street for fun. I have friends who are still slogging their way through the bar band scene, and have been for years. You have no revelations regarding this that are any way significant to me. When I lived in Athens GA, all I did was work, ride, get clean and sober, and go hear bands. Funny thing is that from all three of those things, I met more musicians than I can remember and became good friends with many of them. Save your information for people who don't know any better.

You are astoundingly ignorant of my past. What you just wrote is the stupidest thing I have read in a long time. No, I speak from much experience, and that experience is that psychedelics are a merry go round, and people who insist that there is some great benefit from them are losers. There is nothing real there, it is all fantasy bullsh!t. I could go on for days, but people who believe the stupid things you do aren't worth knowing.

if you were speaking this stuff you'd be spitting and foaming at the mouth! lol
no, i'm going to call your bullsh#t. i don't know what you did or think you did with acid but i know NOBODY that had a real psychedelic experience and talked about it the way you do.
or talk the way you do in general.
if you had, the level at which you are operating on would be so obvious, and humiliating that you'd..... change.
you're about as much of a waste of perfectly good protoplasm as i've ever come across.
and it's clear what people think of you doesn't matter to you as there are many here that will agree with me.

While I agree with you and others on many counts of TFF trawler fest maybe we should all go ride our bike now.

But back to the thread... I'm ambivalent to The Beatles. Not the soundtrack of my life, to be sure. They were just too everywhere for my taste. They should be so proud too, they've finally made it to Vegas.

the beatles were NOT mainstream in their own time. on the radio all the time? yes. because young people bought the records, but don't get it wrong... adults hated them and saw them as a corupting infuence.

i'm guessing you heard them in the back ground as a child so that when you were a pre teen or teen you were sick of them.. you wanted something else.
that's perfectly understandable.

in 1969 if you'd have said paul would be knighted and someday do advertisements for Fidelity Investments you have been seen as just as crazy as someone who said that in 2008 we'd elect a black president whose last name was sounded like the first name of the worlds most widely know terrorist, and who's middle name was the name of a hated leader who's country we'd recently invaded.... ?

What a douche. Hey, maybe read your own posts sometime for your own vitriolic banter. Seems acid didn't teach you introspection. Go figure. As for my usage, uh....okay. Acid is a lie and the people who believe in it are losers. And Freud, everyone cares what others think of them. I just don't care what everyone thinks about me because there are morons like you taking up oxygen.

Oh, and the Beatles suck.

Oh, and keep telling other people about that other concert you went to that wasn't Woodstock and had three bands and was just soo cool and all because it is transparent that you are masking the fact that you feel like a failure for not having attended the most well known concert in the history of mankind so you compensate by trying to convince others that your concert was just better because there were more people there and if only everyone would realize that you actually are cool because you went to that concert and not Woodstock only when you mention the name people look at you blankly and then start looking for the door because they realize that they have been cornered by a blowhard child of the 60's who thinks that just because he found enlightenment in the form of a green aura that cast its glow over everything and told him that "hey man, we are all like, like totally the same and if we just love man, then man, nobody will hurt the children and they will grow and spread peace and love man and....." and they want to move away slowly from the self absorbed freak speaking to them, but you just keep on talking about what you learned from Lennon and how if everyone would just listen to you then the world would be a great place and someday you are going to write a book man and then people will know, then they will know what the world is and should be and man, people will never disagree with you because you are enlightened and man....

Now, you are going on the ignore list because you are so unoriginal that you warrant no further consideration on my part.

Toodles loser!

Toodles loser!

if i had a nickel for every time i've heard him call someone a loser? lol
personaly, i think he's back on the speed again.

TFF's ignore list! what an honor. who else knows they're on his list? we could make a club. wear it as a badge of honor.

for the record. i don't equate summer jam to woodstock in any way.
the fact that it drew a somewhat bigger crowd doesn't mean a thing.

I'm also on his ignore list. It's a shame but kinda cool as well! He can dish it but not take it. I had him on ignore for a while as well, but I just missed reading the rants of someone who displays such a massive chasm between the way the world is and the way it's reconstructed in their head. I've come to regard him so affectionately, like the brother in 'Something About Mary.'

If he truly did put you on ignore it would first of all be a real accomplishment, as it would, I am pretty sure, be a first for the cafe.
It would also spare the rest of us from the continuing last word battle, and crown you last word king, congrats.

Don't they put your neck in the guillotine? The head kind of sticks out the other side, for a minute anyway.

If Bob Dylan says it is a head, it is a head, but on a purely technical level, you are correct.

And cyclo, you are no longer on ignore, but the light insult in your post before last makes me want to reconsider.
