It doesn't really fit the title of the thread or the discussion so far, but on the back of Dan Martin now having not only a stage win in all three GTs, but also a top ten in each, I wondered who would be in his category here: top ten in all three, but no podium (by the definition here: I would prefer to go by results, not ceremonies for Mollema and van den Broeck).

Going back to 1970, I am surprised at how few there seem to be (though I may have missed some)

Van Impe's result should be listed as 4th, 1st, 5th and De Muynck's as 1st, 4th, 7th. I was ranking the GTs based on prestige and not their current calendar slots, which is what I personally feel is the right way to do it, since that has remained unchanged for longer/forever

Anyways i think there is room for discussion here. Just from the placings, I would surely place Delgado over Rodriguez, but I would conclude that Aimar got the biggest achievement (winning Le Tour) but in overall terms was a lesser rider than Millar.

I think the list is cleaner that way, because it shows who came closest to winning (or podiuming) all three GTs. I don't think it could be considered really a value judgement of who had better careers.

Yeah, well, I think the thread evolved a bit. You still have to have been on one podium to get on the list, though.

It could be interesting to have all riders who have been top 10 in all GT's on it but I guess that would be a Herculean task to complete that.

I agree this list is not a judgement value about who had a better career. This list says absolutely nothing about someone's career.

I only asked the question, because there's a kind of logical ranking in this list. Otherwise you can make it on alphabetical order.
