One year ago, Remco destroyed the field in Portugal. Today, he's riding at my level. Sad. Hope his recovery will speed up soon.
Knowing he's racing again in 2 months I hope his level is higher than yours. Not that I know what your level is, but still

Well, 100 km at 33 km/h avg would be my top level, more or less. So yes, let's hope he's evolving soon.

He just posted a ride again (with Vervaeke) and he's already up to 133km at 33 km/h avg. ;)

But yes, I also do hope that is not his limit at this point because then there's a lot of work still to do.

EDIT: the ride with Vervaeke was yesterday, he posted another ride today: 136km at 34 km/h titled 'the first pushes' so I guess the first specific (interval?) training impulses.

At least he's going at a slow pace. I really hope he doesn't try to be great for LBL, and just builds up towards TDF

it's 2 months away

last year, he was winning races after less than 2 months training.

He'll be fine for the Ardennes
Not the same as everyone peaking for the Ardennes. It’s not like he can make up that lost time, unless he goes for a short peak which isn’t good for his TDF or WC ambitions

While others are wasting race days and losing watts in the Middle East, he's practising his Boss look so nobody dares to refuse to take over anymore when he flicks his elbow.

(It's from the avant-premiere of the new Belgian mob movie 'Patsers)

Just read an article on wielerkrant.be (with the news inside perhaps courtesy of HLN). In the article it said Remco is having a tough time mentally. What truly piqued my interest however is that the article claims Remco will be participating in the Tour de Romandie.

I read the same article in "De Morgen". There it was stated that he is on track physically, but that he tries to disconnect from cycling as much as possible (going to a movie premier, going to football matches,...) apart from his training. No explicit mentionning of mental hardship, but I guess it is implied.
And indeed the possibility of a Romandie participation.

People have to understand when you come back from injury, once healed of course, you need relatively little stimuli to make a lot of progress.

Progress goes really fast up to your "potential", and then once you get close to it, it goes slower and slower.

He doesnt need huge intensity to get close to be in "shape", his body will take him there almost automatically with normal training.
Once he will reach a certain level, thats where he will dramatically increase the intensity.
