So the spleen, which can absorb and then release Hgb from / into the bloodstream is now gone, his Hct fluctuates. Again, I ain't no doctor but at face value that makes no sense at all .

Without that Hgb reserve available to be released under aerobic stress conditions, you would expect his Hct to in fact be more stable.

Bilharzia here we go again.

Off course, but, Wegelius being part of the great Mapei Institute under the guidance of Also Sassi would have been already labelled as a natural high hematocrit/great fluctuating rider, wouldnt you think so? Would they have missed that?

Same goes for Dario Cioni of course.

"Sky to win TTT after waiting for one rider that had a malfunctioning bike" Oh that already happened.

How can such a professional team were attention to every detail is emphasized, have a gear system that malfunctions in a 20-minute race ?

the 'detail-oriented team' also forgot about the riders' placings in the GC from yesterday as well

Is it just me or does that Puccio guy remind me of the Gewiss 1995 case of the embaressed Gotti that got yellow in the Tour?

Gotti actually had some decent results prior but the shame looked the same.

And made froome into an olympic tt bronze medalist and 2nd in 2 tdf tts, without ever showing him what a wind tunnel looks like.

Evidently most of the budget for mechanics gets siphoned off to pay for dodgy medical consultants.

Was Leinders wrenching for over-time rates as well? They seem to be having more saddle sores and mechanicals than previous years...

Wait. So you are so naive cycling-wise that you think training time takes away from wrenching time?

Eesh.

I heard they now do a session on the turbo trainer during the night.

Sir Dave said it keeps their blood nice and thin.

Marginal gain.

So, if so many are convinced Sky are doping, what exactly does their program consist of?

I would say micro-dosing would not produce such quality "marginal gains" as we've seen from Wiggins and Froome. Even so, somewhere along the line they would be bound to get pinched given the current climate.

It must be either...

1) Some seriously powerful new drug/s that the general cycling public hasn't heard about...

2) A similar program as run by other teams in the past but much more carefully monitored by team medical staff or...

3) a combination of both.

I'm not a fan of rampant speculation without there being at least some sort of details we can contemplate.

If they are cheating, they have found a way to get around the Bio Passport, so my guess is their medical program is heavy on the monitoring side. I also think Wiggo and Froome could possibly be the proud recipients of that weight loss drug that's in whatever stage of human testing.

I've never seen riders that thin with such power output levels. This leads me to think whatever it is they're doing would make Johan Bruyneel and Dr. Ferrari blush.

The first Bio tests taken at altitude are removed from the profile. With the limited amount of Bio tests and anything in Ternieifre discounted along with the odd blood disease thrown in - beating the Bio is rather simple.

Doping favours the wealthy. If you can monitor your levels and train at altitude you have a free pass.

Sky's power levels are insane. Off the charts. Chris Froome will mess it all up. He is sloppy.

To follow-up on that, I would love to see someone ask Froome and Wiggo the following questions:

1) Do you use any methods or products related to training and racing that you haven't revealed openly and publicly?

2) Are you involved with any type of training or preparation whatsoever that would reasonably be considered controversial by the general cycling public if made known?

Hey, maybe they employ innovative training techniques that fall well within the rules of fair play. If so, I'm not suggesting that they have some sort of obligation to tell all their competitors how to get better. But I'd be curious as to the response to the above questions.

Maybe there should be a third:

3) Are you involved with any methods of training or use of products whatsoever that you consider to be within the rules, but that you choose not to reveal so as not to tip your hand to your competitors?

Yes or no.

They seem like simple enough questions.

Dan Benson? Your move...

Predictions:

- 1-2 in the remaining time trial.

- Froome to ride up to breakaway attempts by top tier climbers and then attack himself, slowdown and then ride on the front again.

- Sky doms to pace set for 50km’s at a time up HC mountains

- Cav to win one or more stages before Tour end.

- The grupetto to finish outside the time limit day after day.

- Known climbers being chased down by Sky doms.

Anything else I missed?

Wow my predications from 2012 are now standard in 2013
