No reason why this man can't take the overall win in the Swiss Alps:

The Sagan/Demare/Gallopin/Boonen/Farrar/Goss/Haussler/Degenkolb battle could be pretty good as well.

Here is big reason just for you:cool::

I know a better reason

MFW every time you(whether seriously or not) name a Dutch rider as a favourite:

TGBM won't do anything, please be realistic for once. This isn't the TDU, where almost none of the standard cycling rules apply.

How about Tejay? Or will he take it rather easy? Maybe a bit too much to ride for GC in Cali, Suisse and France?

He'll probably try to do as best as he can. He's not one of the big name Tour contenders (yet!) so doesn't need to worry to much about overdoing it before the Tour. Plus a good result here would bode well for him getting more of a free role for the Tour.

well, lets see if the Swiss can come up with 9 exciting stages before we give them the 21 day challenge.
Very easy...Libertine Seguros! We nominate you race director!

She'd come up with a great GT in no time flat.

Looks solid enough, the route isn't the most difficult on paper.

Unlike CdD this year, many riders have a chance to pick up a very good win in Switzerland it seems.

Looking forward to the action.

lol, but she really should be busy with the TdF route instead. In particularly the flat and mid mountain part.

I'm afraid he'll have to play domestique for Wilco Wonderland.

Why is Wilco racing? He's raced plenty this season, and if I were to decide his race schedule, he'd take it easy for a few weeks, ride the NC, and then Burgos.

At least Aru will be saved from being burned out after a GT debut.

huh, I just saw Rujano as a reserve on the startlist on cyclingfever. Don't tell me Rujano won't be racing in Suisse :(

Err...Is LS female? What a twist, tbh...

I think this is a misunderstanding coming from his/her name. I always thought LS was female because of the ending Libert-ine. I associate that ending with women's names, such as Martine, so I thought Libertine was the female version of Liberty. But I think "libertine" is a noun in english, meaning "who is free" (or something similar), regardless of gender, as in the band "The Libertines". AFAIK LS has never commented on the discussion (as is his or her good right)

He's on the provisional startlist, it remains to be seen if he actually rides.

It's a fine line, the risk of overexertion is definitely there, but he's a second year pro (unlike Aru) and he did seem relatively fresh at the end of the Giro. He'll want to bank on his Giro legs.

It's not really bad to ride Suisse, but I fear he'll return to racing too soon afterwards. Last year he was pretty average after that amazing Dauphiné, he couldn't get into top form anymore.(he barely had any rest between the NC and Poland) Same with Kruijswijk in '11, look at how La Vuelta later in that season completely destroyed him. And that's a rider with some of the best recovery I've ever seen.

Funny you should mention Kruijswijk, as he did a great Tour de Suisse in that same year... the Giro bonus in the legs is difficult to simply let fade away and not race at all.

That's exactly the problem; you might feel great after the Giro and think it's good to capitalize on that, but at the same time you risk doing too much. In 2011 Kruijswijk went on to compete at the NC after Suisse, where his form was already rapidly declining.

Sometimes resting after a GT is better than keeping on building fatigue, and possibly stretching it beyond your limits. Why do you think Nibali, Majka and Uran won't race until late July?

If the start list is correct, Betancur is going to Suisse as well as Kelderman, I fear the worst for the rest of their respective seasons. :(

Don't know for certain about the other two, but Nibali is riding the Vuelta to prepair for the WC. Since Kelderman doesn't. There aren't a lot of great stage race for climbers during the autumn either, he hasn't shown anything in classics...I don't see what he would really lose if he doesn't reach top-form in the rest of the season by riding a good Suisse.
