Tom 'Pidders' Pidcock

Everyone is a loser but q36.5.

Ineos loses their most marketable rider and a great one day racer. Bad.

Pidcock - Couldn't get it all his own way and behaves like a toddler. Not competitive at the big events against the real generational talents and just decides he will not do it anymore. Does he realize he will not be part of the only bike race that reaches broad markets? He's making himself so much less of an asset with this move. Very few care about "garden races".

Pidcock would have been perfect for Tinkoff or Rock 'n Republic cycling teams.
Went to a race this year a on a car roof rack a mint condition team bike from Rock racing!! I forgot all about that guy!! Tinkoff another look at me team that nobody looked at other than Sagan signing. If Pidcock goes Q36 he will be in the backwater immediately, Tudor is full and probably don't want drama. Pidcock is going to bring drama..

“Went to a race this year on a car roof rack” doesn’t sound very safe to me. Maybe should go in the “Accidents—how to prevent them” thread! ;)

Who gives a toss about the Tour; the most over rated event in cycling. Cycling exists the other 49 weeks of the year. Why can't people move on from that race?

And a helluva lot of people watch what you call 'garden races'......and so do bike manufacturers, and component makers.

Who gives a toss about the Tour
It's about 80% of the total market for pro cycling so, well, everyone. Outside of The Tour, cycling has very niche sport events. Sad but true. I like the other weeks of the year just as much but most people don't.

To be a great of the sport and be a widely recognized name in sport, you simply have to perform at the tour. Sad to see a rider of Pidcock's quality fail to even try.

Keyboard warrior here... I crashed 3 times on recent mountain bike outing. I am only ragging on Remco because he can't punch me. I am disqualified completely on avoiding accidents!! I was not mounted on the roofed bike, just admiring as I passed by..on foot.. In my town we also have 3 pretty old KHS race team bikes that are still in service, testament to durability!!

If Pidcock goes to Q36 he will be riding new sick Scott bike.. It looks pretty amazing!!

Until he speaks about it unless it's NDAd we won't know that he was the toddler in this.

Ineos for months have had people leaving who have said its basically broken there, you aren't going to fix that by hiring a bunch of random support staff

Saw a lower (Shimano Ultegra) version of the new Scott Addict with the same paintjob, at a local dealer 2 days ago looks glorious!

Well among other things from just this year:
He refused to go to the pre-tour training camp with the team to train alone in Andorra.
He went to a mtn bike race he was specifically told not to go to in this period that abrupted his training.
He dnf the tour for no other reason than him wanting to prepare for mtn bike olympics (the team had to fabricate an excuse).
He is an altogether self-interested rider who works poorly with teammates and staff.
He lashes out in media when he's not getting his way - which many fans like of course but is ultimately very poor behavior for a professional.

And I love him for it!
Can't he just start his CX season like now!

What will his schedule even be next year? Because there are plenty of other big races outside of GTs, like MSR and LBL both of which Pidcock will want to do, that they weren't invited to last year and Tudor will be taking more wildcard spots too. It seems like a strange move!

All of those things are resolved by better management of talent by the team. Of course Tom was focussing on the MTB, Ineos other sponsors were fully on board with that and supporting him,and of course Tom is brusque with those who don't support him or put obstacles in his way.

As has been stated he was signed as a multi discipline talent, not a bottle carrier.

But there we go, it's done now so let's see what happens next
