Peter Sagan out of the tour De France. DFQ

Sagan officially out of the Tour!!!!!!

A massive shame.
He was at fault, but such a shame to see the most talented rider of the generation out of the Tour.
Today's stage has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.
Two riders I greatly admire have lost massively.

Ok, so here http://imgur.com/a/JyLtM is the sequence of images showing what happened. But how and why it happened?
1. Demare reaches his rightmost position next to the barriers
2. Demare starts moving to the left, thus creating an opening along the barriers
3. You can see that Cav stopped pedalling already in the second image, I think he realised he was too close to the barriers, and there were some stupid people leaning over them with their cameras and tablets. Cav leans to the left and possibly collides with Sagan.
4. Sagan is to the right of Demare so can not make space for Cav even if he wanted to. Cav starts falling, Sagan's elbow begins flinching.
5. - 6. Disaster ensues. The elbow looks bad but it was not the cause of the crash.

Is there an update somewhere of the injuries and fallen riders?

Some sources saying Cavendish has fractured his shoulder and is likely out of the Tour.
Degenkolb hurt bad, but will not abandon.
Greipel very upset with Sagan and says "he is not my friend anymore from now on". (Uh oh)

Rumors of Sagan abandoning the tour for some reason were unfounded

Idk I've seen that replay 10 times over now, I don't think it was DQ worthy. I still don't think it was honestly any more dangerous than what Demare did who gets a stage win.

The jury of Commissioners has decided to put Peter Sagan out of the race / Commissioners ' panel decided to exclude Peter Sagan.

Sprinting is reckless by nature, or at least very dangerous. I really can't see how, even if Sagan moved a bit farther of his line than he should have, which certainly was not intended to bring Cav down, its not acknowledged the Maxman was also seeking, nay insisting upon (there is a certain amount of hubris and recklessness in this) an improbable pass.

The most boring of the 3 grand tours now went to even greater depths of boredom. Thanks. I'll probably start watching some triathlon races until Vuelta :D

Im not sure that Im ready to watch a race where the yellow jersey won't change team until the end and where the one and only rider that can make it a bit more entertaining on flat/hills is kicked out. Thats some serious amount of BS.

Sagan relegated to last in group, 30 sec penalty on GC but most importantly 35 point penalty for green jersey. Plenty to talk about tmoro

Now it's 35 points?

In official results its still 80 points
It was 50 when you take off the points for 2nd on the stage, but that means nothing now with the DQ.
