I'm sorry but you're slightly off here. Average county cricket player (level below international) earns 50k a year. If youre an international AND IPL, you get about 3m a year, 4m at most.

In Rugby, average UK rugby player earns about 120k. Even Owen Farrell, who earns one of the highest wages in rugby, is under 1m.

Even in football, with a commercial revenue way, way higher than cycling, if you play in a midtable side in Italy or Germany or Spain (premiership has insanely inflated wages and prices) you're gettign half a million or so. Formula 1 has huge salaries, that's because there are 20 of them.

Cycling wages are a lot higher compared to other sports than you think. Especially when you consider how many live in tax havens, and how food and expenses for 100 days a year or so are paid for.
So are we deliberately counting lower levels?

I've had this debate too many times before, to care to have it again.

If you think 200-300,000 is a good wage to be a World Tour rider, we just have to agree to disagree.
Surprised you've had the debate so many times and still think that cycling wages are so low compared to sports with fairly similar revenues and reach.

And yes, earning 300k to be a world Tour rider is fantastic

Yes, I know that, do you have a source that clearly explains the rules?
3rd over the line if I am not mistaken. So it takes Valverde (always pretty consistent), Mas and one more rider (mostly Soler).

Mostly, the best GC team with the yellow jersey sacrifices some more riders so they only end up with 1 or 2 riders on uphill finishes within the first couple of minutes, while e.g. Movistar nevers wins anything because all riders just try not to lose time so they all end up somewhere in the top 10 of every stage.

Where are we pulling 300k from? Is that the mean?

They're not lower levels. International cricket employs maybe 100 people at that level, while world tour has nigh on 300 riders. Same goes for rugby, which, as I pointed out, even at just below top international level (about 100) you're earning as much if not less than the average world tour domestique. Football is a big exception, granted, but my point was that the wages of who you can consider top flight (like in cycling) is not wildly more.

in the end, it's the same.

No, it's not.

For example rider a,b and c could all ride the race and finish in the same time as front group and be no worse off. Riders D on lose loads of times.

Following stage, riders a, b and d finish in the front group, and c and E on lose loads.

In GC, a and b are at top and others aren't. In team, team is top

I feel Pogacar can still win the polka dot jersey. He should be a better climber. Freshness will decide.

Also, other riders will decide: If you have some other very good climbers wanting to set that KOM (for whatever reason), they can take points away from the main contenders.

Ineos get their stage and it looks like the KOM jersey as well. Richie dodged a bullet for a change ! Yates and Uran had off days. Could be an interesting TT coming up. Top five positions can still be altered even though it will be tough for Pogacar and Porte to move up further.

If you people think that cycling salaries are not fair, just think of triathlon... It all comes to how your executives are selling the product...
