Does French law allow riders/teams to press charges/sue that spectator? I've never sued anyone in my life but if someone comes into my job and knocks me down, I'm pressing charges and suing, especially if I can't do my job for a while after.
You can sue anyone for anything, really. The pertinent question is does the individual in question have any assets to collect?

In direct broadcast I clearly saw Roglic finishing third (or even second), but first results (based on transponder data) showed Vingegaard finishing third. Turns out it was Primoz on Jonas' bike.
Looks like the two have so similar bike size and setup, Jumbo didn't bother to swap the bike again.

That sounds very American. :)
I'm sure in France you cannot just sue anyone, or at least no court will accept your claim if there is no base.
I don't know about French law, but I guess in Germany something like negligent assault could be cited. I'm not sure about the exact factors necessary, though, for instance she only held a sign which hardly counts as a weapon (unlike a car would do).
Then it would have to be considered whether she could have known her behaviour would lead to the consequences (well, she could...) and then she would have to pay a certain amount which should in no way be in the dimensions like in the US, but if she can't pay it she might have to go to prison.
Well, not that I know anything about it, my point is the difference between American and French law is probably significant here.

Exactly. The riders who avoid these crashes have a bit of luck but also strong teams, smart tactics and strength to be at the right place at the right time.
Winners today - Rog, Pog, Alaphillipe, MVDP, VanAert, Thomas, Carapaz
Losers-MAL, Tao, Porte, Woods

Exactly as would be predicted if you were told a crash ruined the GC chances of a bunch of riders today

Why is it so difficult to understand that if the GC guys Team mates are injured it can effect their overall results? It's a Team sport. Rog and Pog not that lucky.

I think everyone who knows her, saw her on the tv today, so it shouldn’t be too hard to track her down.

At the same time, I’m equally sure she feels absolutely awful about it, and is unlikely to do anything similar ever again.
Quite possible. I’d like to see her do a few days in the clink to dissuade her and others from doing the same. No idea what the charge would be, just saying I’d like this stuff to stop.

Well, Vingegaard has been nicknamed "Primoz' Shadow".
So, Vingegaard is not Harper, and Roglic is not Vingegaard. Question is; who's not Roglic?
Of course we already know that Van Aert is not Stybar...

Congratulations to Julian Alaphilippe for taking the win. He likely approached stage 1 as being a classic, such as La Flèche Wallonne. I don't know if he has a realistic chance for overall but likely he will wear yellow for a while.

As for the carnage. It's like they made a blood oath today. No blood no podium. I don't remember when i saw such level of carnage on stage 1. Selection was tough too. So many cyclist out of the GC picture on stage 1 already.

Ineos is now down to two potential leaders. UAE might lost some valuable members, JV no special word yet on Martin and Kuss. Both Slovenians are strong.

Lets see who will end up being on the start list tomorrow. And as stage 2 will likely be harder, possibly rainy, further selection could be made tomorrow.
