I'm not sure I believe Pogacar was really not able to hang there. He never looks like he's putting in effort, at least on his face and body language. In any case, I look forward to seeing more guys challenging him!

Exactly, the route was not the issue here, even if double Bedoin side would have helped. Riders should be offered opportunities to take time on descents and there aren't overly many this year.

Think today was just a bit messed up by Carapaz not really having anything. Everyone else was just waiting for him for ages given how obviously Ineos cued it up across the day, and going before that seemed like you'd just be teeing yourself up to get countered.

I saw an Effort face, then he dropped. Take courage everyone, it's Not over and he is human!

Vingegaard says he felt good, so he gave it a shot. He initially excpected Pogacar to work with him, but when he didn't do that, he decided just to push on and try to drop him instead.

Kwiatkowski was barely putting time into Van Aert.
I don't think they could go much faster, but this is a warning for Ineos. Kwiatkowski is now their best dom on Mt V. It's very confusing, especially when you have a team with Thomas, TGH and Porte.

WVA seemed to be climbing Ventoux as fast as Richie Porte. He only started to shed time when Kwia went to the front and the attacks started. Great win. O'Connor seemed to bonk early on the final climb and recovered pretty well, it could have been much worse and Pogacar had the benefit of a long descent to get back.

Its pretty obvious that the Ineos doms are not firing on all cylinders but neither is Carapaz.

I think WVA's strong TT ability was on display today, and he went to his absolute limit on the climb. I doubt he can do it again in a day or two. And he was only able to do it because he started 27 minutes down.
