BEX, Trek and Alpecin seem to want the sprint. They're closing the gaps to bigger groups.

You wouldn't have thought Pollitt and Honoré would be that delighted to find Wout going up the road with them.

I think the problem for them is less Van Aert and more the absence of other people in this break. This has no chance of succeeding without other people joining in.

So bunch sprint it is. Groenewegen or Philipsen then. Ewan won't survive, don't think Jakobsen will either.

Van Aert just with another suicide move this

I honestly despair looking at Jumbo's tactics with Wout attacking for no reason and expanding energy for very little gain. It's not like Jonas was completely isolated yesterday when it really mattered.....

It didn't really matter at that point. It's mano a mano on such a climb.

But yeah, I don't really get today's tactics either.

Jumbo: "Bah, yellow jersey is just an afterthought. A secondary/tertiary goal. Got to be realistic. It's not like we have a guy who can actually win the thing. "

I wonder what they'll do in the Grand Tours next year. Withdrawing riders who are ready for racing can't be the future of pro cycling, can it?
