Possible surprises on this stage? Heat, wind, lumpy course, fatigue ...
UAE to bribe Ganna, Kung, Bissegger, Bodnar and Tratnik to get into the break, Pogacar bridges with Mcnulty, and they TTT until the finish.
Their advantage reach 4minutes at 30k to go, the tour seems over, but WVA suddenly goes to the front for a 25km turn and bring the gap back to 1min.

This could have been an entertaining stage but it looks like block headwind for most of the last 50 km is going to kill it

It has been confirmed by EF now. The last week doesn't suit him, so if he isn't feeling well, which he hasn't seemed like he was in the last few days, it's better to ravel home and rest up before the next races.

You could even say the Tour has become unravelled for him. :p

65/35 on this becoming a sprint, perhaps with some of the sprinters being dropped. But I think there will be enough teams that are willing to put some effort into controlling the race with Alpecin, Bex, Trek and maybe even Sagan/Kristoff and van Poppel being interested.

It all depends on Bike Ex. Do they wait for 19 and 21 for a sprint or do they sense a chance with Dylan? If they wait for 19 and 21 then I think Schultz in the break. If there is no bike ex to chase then break wins. Lotto won’t be chasing as Ewan is banged up and they have basically said they are nursing him through to 19 and 21. Who else chases? Quickstep have been ravaged with covid. Alpecin can’t do it alone.

How exactly have QuickStep been ravaged by Covid?
