If riders are already testing positive before the rest day I fear what will happen tomorrow during the mandatory testing day...

If the UCI doesn't stop with this testing obsession stage racing as we know it could be in danger.

From what I understand, they're only required to drop out if they're actually feeling sick, and of course if a rider is feeling sick he's probably more likely to get a test outside of the required times.

Guillaume Martin seems to be out as well

On this rate 1/3 of the bunch will be out with Covid at the end...

Really gutted for G. Martin :(

On the plus side at least the Vuelta breaks may have a higher chance of being interesting.

TdS 2022 showed empirically that the half-life of the peloton is 8 days in Covid conditions so it can be 2/3 or more out from those who did not get Covid recently.

Guillaume Martin also looked completely fine yesterday. Weird. I am scared for tomorrows tests.

Guerreiro was actually really sick apparantly and it isn't covid.

My picks are Fuglsang @ 13, Storer @ 26, and Guillaume Martin @ 101 (lol).

Long odds for Martin obviously because he's only 3 minutes down on GC, but I'm hoping that no self-respecting GC team will feel threatened by The Philosopher's chances over three weeks. Unfortunately, self-respecting GC teams are a rarity in this age.
That seems to be difficult for Martin... since he didn't start this morning due to Covid.
