A lot of cycling lore is based on love of guys almost winning.

But elite athletes also have to have high opinions of themselves and many in that group believes they can maybe beat Jasper when it isn’t a bunch sprint. It’s been a hard day and that changes things.

And O’Connor knows his odds of beating those two in a sprint, while small, are much bigger than his odds of winning if they are caught. He has to cling to the belief that they are more tired than him

Longer bike means slower finish, so really bike throw perfection as all momentum is in the throw before slowing down very quickly.

In Baloise he was actually attacking again. This Tour, might as well skipped it from a performance and entertainment perspective. You don't bring him for his tactics either - then he wouldve jumped with Asgreen.
