It would be interesting to hear what the Uno-X team were thinking. It seems they thought Tiller was flying, but Tiller wasn't really close to getting in any of the most dangerous breakaways. Of course, you could say that Abrahamsen and Charmig showed the strength of the team.

Israel did get something out of chasing down the early power breakaway - with Clarke and Strong in contention -, but they lost out, just like the third chasing team EF.

MVDP not exactly displaying the form I'd want to see this close to WC, unless he's totally playing possum.
He was not well placed when they went. Maybe didn’t want to bridge if Philipsen would drop. Looked better now after his sickness. Worlds is still 2 weeks.

Longer bike means slower finish, so really bike throw perfection as all momentum is in the throw before slowing down very quickly.
But you want a slow finish as that means you have timed the bike throw almost to perfection? And that the short bike at the photofinish means you are doing the bike throw to late as the speed still increases (compared to the other) over the line, right?

mistimed throw from Asgreen, otherwise he would have got it..but then again, fitting that other people also get some joy, and "træerne ikke gror ind i himlen" // the trees do not grow into the sky for the danes.. :smirkcat:

Impey stating the blindingly obvious on Eurosport right now with regards for those working for teammates needing to pull the group properly. Seems you need to retire before gaining the ability to understand this?!

What else do you expect Impey to say? A silly post by you.

Second TTT in two days cost Asgreen the win. O'Connor v Landa in a two up sprint would be too hard to call........... Green jersey doing a lot of talking in the chase group but it seems no one was listening..............

Jasper really disappointed over the motors. “They decided the outcome 2 times in a row”.

Just get on. Green secured. It’s always been like this. If you attack you get a tv moto.

UNO X performance is raising a lot of questions. Completely burrying their team to catch Campenaerts and then Tiller won't even be close to top 10.

They are suffering from the first up TDF syndrome - I remember Jayco Alula so often riding on the front at the 2012 TDF to get a stage win - At the same time they were chasing green jersey points which I reckon cost Goss a stage win.

You don’t necessarily want a slow finish, but the 20cm that mohoric still had to make up and not really having significantly more speed, he did so by throwing his bike, hitting the finish and bang on the finish line already slowing down as a result of that enormeous bike throw.
Asgreen didn’t put anything of his speed in a well-timed throw and had a pretty normal profile for someone going through the photofinish with constant (higher) speed.

You'd think it would be blindingly obvious that joining the chase group would shut it down with near 100% certainty & therefore leave both himself and MVDP with zero chance of a win. I think that's crediting the riders with a bit more tactical intelligence than they deserve though to be perfectly honest. What him and VDP were doing clearly only works if VDP is in the front group.
I suppose. Perhaps the team director should have called JDP back? I wonder if he will be worn out for Paris after today and tomorrow, but then Mads was also in the break so who knows. What a dreadful tour for sprinting.
