He was not well placed when they went. Maybe didn’t want to bridge if Philipsen would drop. Looked better now after his sickness. Worlds is still 2 weeks.
I'll have to watch the sprint for 4th again but it looked like he tried to lead out Philipsen but instead was just in the way, no snap at all, and went straight out the back of his group. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan, but that didn't look super encouraging; you know if he's got the legs he's going to go boss a situation like that. Maybe just getting a little tired too, but then again everyone is tired now. Hope he's good in two weeks.

Lmao, guy has 4 stages and the green. Is he normally this salty?
Don’t know. He was known as one of the best pilots going through the peloton before a sprint. But here he got a couple of sprints off his line a bit and now so emotional here.

I just think it’s the adrenaline and knowing your the best sprinter so you want to win more. Outside of the race he’s one of the most calm friendliest teammates.

He refused to work with LaPorte because he had Phillipsen behind, but that strategy didn’t seem like the best odds for Alpecin at that point in the race because it was clear the front 3 were going to push hard all the way to the line.

He was also the only one pulling with UNO-X before and bridged a couple times himself. He did his job in the end, Pedersen just went early for a long sprint.

I agree. I don't get it. They had to think pushing for a JDP win would only help the breakaway. JDP should have dropped off to try for Paris. Bro has 4 stages already, 6 in the last 2 years.

Jumbo was on his wheel the whole classics season.
No, but he was closing the stronger riders and he just needed a minute and then he worked with him. But with 2 you wouldn’t get closer either.
He’s one of the riders who always rides.
