Yes but plan was for sure he goes hard for Pogi in that flatter part we just saw, where drafting actually matters. The 300m in the steep part did nothing for Pogacar, in fact hr probably could have gone faster. Still the right strategy but for sure didn’t work as intended.
It would be pretty hard to time exactly when Pog would catch Yates, and he probably caught him sooner than expected.

Agreed, yet he’s been answering them to this point. But also he shipped more time today than I’d hoped.
Yeah, mixed feelings about today. He's mostly looked really solid so far, we're deep into the race now and part of me thinks any day he doesn't have the big crack is a good one. But the last climb should have been pretty good for him and truth is he wasn't very far ahead of CRod, Gall, etc. I was really hoping for more given he was riding right near the front most of the climb until Pog attacked.

Yeah, I was impressed to see him hanging with Vingo, but maybe he went a bit too deep.

Cue, “that’s what she said”…

Amazingly, being on the front of the race, motos are in front of him. But sure, only Tadej benefits from this phenomenon…I guess ‘cause he’s always out front?
The guy in front on a climb will always have a moto in front, even if it’s not the camera moto. It’s an advantage that is a controllable variable . . . Get to the front, you’ll have a moto.

Derek Gee beating old Armstrong records is class, he must be looking down at his power numbers thinking how the *** am I 10th I'm absolutely flying.
Tbf, he is absolutely flying. Since a few years ago (actually probably the last 3), he probably would have been in podium/winning shape.
