I think the big gaps are becoming the norm. There were only 15 and 16 riders within an hour the last 2 years

Incredible performance by Pogacar which nobody predicted before the Tour. Finally after 26 years another Giro Tour double. Never believed I would see that in the modern era. We should not be surprised by today. He seemed so fresh in the 3rd week despite the Giro in his legs.

People will say Vingegaard was badly injured and that is true. But that actually makes Vingegaard's performance even more unbelievable. There is no doubt Visma believed they could beat Tadej. But IMO human physiology gave them a reality check.
