With the retirements of Almeida and Carlos Rodriguez, Jorgenson's and Enric Mas´ GC disappearance,
Guillaume Martin could achieve his umpteenth top10 like Haimar Zubeldia.
I mean i think his approach is kinda cringe as in super caring about gc while often not being among the 15 best cg riders of the race, but most of the time he gains his time (back) by going in many breaks not by being a Zubeldia

Vingo's goal is to change it into long one on one attrition battle, just like in old times. Even if Pog shows only a minor weakness and is distanced on Madeleine by just 30-40 seconds Visma will hope it will grow on the last climb and false flat (doms help?).

Obviously it can backfire big time but Vingo has nothing to lose.

Just 30-40 seconds? That would be a major gap.

I get the feeling a bunch of Visma riders are on the radio now asking what to do, with Wellens out front.

Personally I'd let him go, let him solo all he likes, then try to get clear themselves on the climb
