I ma not saying Lipo rode smartly - he didnt ...but he has a team behind him and he is young...surely that is Bora's mistake

And also not calling Rog back on the final climb was a mistake and not a team efort
You cannot drop Rog back. He is the only good rider RBH have. He has all the weight on his shoulders to perform throughout the year. You never chain your leader. Lipo found himself in a good situation and he should have been well advised to stay to Onley's wheel and all would have been well.

Feel for the young guy.

Having two minutes and almost being locked down for the podium... it is just poor to potentially throw it away like that.

Lets hope for his sake he is good tomorrow.

Rogla has the level for podium.
I would be pissed if he isn't third in Paris.

I dotn know what you guys are watching but Onely and Lipo are riding better than him this Tour ...his GC at the Tour is over

Rogla was stronger than Lipo on Ventoux and today.
Clearly he is improving while Lipo is getting tired.
Not today. He just didn't make the colossal waste of energy Lipowitz did.

It's really simple, Roglic isn't in top form but he's doing the fresh efforts at a high level. Lipowitz is doing all the long hard grinds really well.

Except today, when Lipowitz made the grind too long and hard.

Anyway, Jayco dodged a bullet with O'Connor's win today. for unknown reasons they decided to give him an old style TDF preparation coming into the season underdone and gradually building up a peak for the TDF. There are two issues with this plan. You have a crash in stage one and GC plans are finished and secondly O'Connor is the type of rider who tends to be close to top shape throughout the season and tries to maintain it. Finally, there will be a different prep for 2026, so expect him to ride the Aussie summer.

He obviously cares about his 2nd.
2nd in the Tour behind the best ever is a huge accomplishment for him and for his team.
Pog-Vingo already hold the record of 1-2 in the TdF:
both when it comes to CGs and stages.

If they were to finish 1-2 this year too, which at this point appears very likely, they'd even increase the lead, and if somehow next year it could end up 1-2 with Vingo ahead of Pog, I don't even know when such a rivarly could be beaten.

Definitely history of the TdF.
Granted such feature won't give you the kind of royalties you'd get from music, let alone from when "selling records" was way more lucrative, but still...

Overall I agree that Lipowitz has been the better rider in the Tour, but I don't quite follow today. Roglic rode in the breakaway for a long time, and that takes a ton of energy. Ultimately, he finished a minute ahead of Lipowitz. I don't think you could say that Lipo was stronger today, but it was a very complicated stage.

It means a lot - for their sponsors. They got massive exposure today, and that's what they pay all those millions for.
On a stage? For some camera time?

No.

A podium for the team and the rider means a whole lot more because of what you just said!

They screwed up and just have to hope Lipo is up for it tomorrow.

Just watched the German speaking interview. Lipo said that he caught up to the MJ group and everyone just sat up and looked at each other, so he decided to give it a go. But 10k from home he felt the energy wasn't there anymore. Gutsy move, probably the recklessness of youth, but at least he did something other than just soft-pedalling through the valley at a snail's pace, which unfortunately paid off for some.
