If he manages to win a stage in the Tour du Rwanda against a bunch of nobodies?
Badilltti, who is on his chase, has been 3rd at Tour de l Ain....I dont thibnk he is nobody....and he is not the strongerst rival for him. Victor de la Parte has a decent palmares, to say just one name...he won Tour of Austria, to important names.

45km to go, Eusktel rider is in pursuit of Froome, 35 second difference.

Badilatti failed and droped...Now is Iturria who is on the chase of Froome at 1 min...hope the rain stoped and he colaboprate with Froome..this climb is quite irregular..long but with descents.

Froome could make a good step forward today,. or still he can lose lot of minutes in GC...but anyway I think he will finish ahead of the current leader Bonnet.

There are almost no WT teams and the ones who are present have sent their weakest riders. This race literally means nothing.

Froome is just training here..not peaking...other way of course it wasnt meritable for him...but we are in february, not in may. So, even if he lose a lot of minutes today...it is a good signal his break.

So just like the rest of the WT peloton then? No one is peaking for february.

Sometimes the smallest races are the hardest. Meanwhile in UAE Tour they are just chilling and softpedaling.

Sure, it's a flat sprint stage today. Froome would have lost minutes yesterday against the guys in the UAE, let's be real here for a minute.

If he were at UAE Tour, he would be working and for that losingbig time. Not everybody is just training at WT, lot of riders are now close to his best level. We see how Froome started last year in march and how he was at the end of May...really different...For other riders is quite similar. Of course Pogacar is not peaking, but close to his best level now. Froome sould be here better than is Australia, so with the level of the race I hoped something for him, and I think he is doing something.

Even if he wouldn't be working, he would still have lost minutes trying to hang on. Most other WT riders are also peaking for either the giro or the spring classics.

I'm curious though what you expect from Froome in may? It's true that he is doing something, but trying an attack in the tour du Rwanda isn't exactly impressive unless your expectations are ridiculously low. But it is something.
