As explained elsewhere there are huge constraints on organising any kind of bicycle race in the UK nowadays. I'm sure the organisers would have wanted an exciting parcours as much as anyone in an ideal world
But they literally ride straight past obstacles which are within the same council jurisdiction as the routes they are taking. They're just lazy parcours designers.

To be honest the organisers deserve the Dutch Mareczko winning 6 stages for making such a mickey mouse route.
If there's one sprinter Kooij does not resemble, it's Mareczko. He's more like Philipsen. A harder route wouldn't be bad for him, not too hard of course but then they have Van Aert.

Kooij enters the top-10 of most stages won in ToB history, having raced only 4 stages in his career. And he's barely had to try.

It's just dumb. A top 5 sprinter with Van Aert as a leadout beating guys who aren't even in the top 20 of sprinters.
