Yeah, I expected him to loose minutes yesterday, only to be the strongest today...Sosa MIA, a day behind schedule
Cepeda was also 20sec ahead of him on the gc and Kämna looked like he was at his limit on the steeper part. He dropped him on the shallower gradients, just like he did with Carapaz when he won that Tour stage (can we call him the bane of Ecuador?)Bora way better than in the previous days. Cepeda was being very naive in the last couple of kms. Not sure what he was thinking, he didn't ask once for Kamna to come to the front. He probably underestimated him.
Perhaps that's indeed the plan and TGH is peaking a little earlier?Poor old Cepeda plugging away to no avail
For some reason I cannot Like Tao G Hart. I live in London and would support a Londoner (love Fred Wright) but that man never looks happy. Always seems to be moaning or at least his face seems that way
Howver not sure how INEOS are going to play it at the Giro ...Thought Thomas would be leader after last years Tour and what he seemed ot indicate ??
Is the white flag something Vlasov wanted or just virtue signaling on behalf of the organizer, uci or whatever?
Thomas can follow wheels and get 3rd.Perhaps that's indeed the plan and TGH is peaking a little earlier?
Ineos seem to use the multiple leaders approach in every GT anyway. Since they never have a major favorite it probably makes sense.
Only if he gets paid in $$$$I bet the money is greener though.
seeing the forecast, this looks very well possible tomorrow again, I guess. Temperatures close to zero on the climbs and rain basically all day.Weather tomorrow will be really really bad (cold, a lot of rain). But probably no snow at the hills.
They shortned the Giro stage two years ago at that kind of weather.
