Pellizzari doesn‘t wear enough white, right?
Pellizzari is actually not that bad of a bike handler. Last year in TotA he was still feeling the consequences of an unlucky crash while training (slipped on an oily road while descending and made other teammates crash with him). He told me he was afraid to push on descents for months before gaining back his confidence.
Granted he's no Savoldelli or Mohoric but I wouldn't say he's someone who'll be automtically dropped in every descent like Latour or Reichenbach.

Bahrain's Pickering a DNF so I think we can assume he was the one going off road.

Good for Foss and Ineos with the win. Seems a lot of their guys are doing the Giro so it's important that there's some good form.

Really nice route for this race.

Foss may not be the GT contender that some thought he would become but he is still a very interesting rider.

Ah, I forgot that hellsite exists. I checked their Insta and there was nothing on it about Finlay.

Ib4 Ineos turn him into Honchar 2.0.

Yeah, there would be an absurd amount of super steep stuff around Bolzano/Bozen. I'm talking about gradients that put the Zoncolan to shame

Stage 2 highlight is the Gnadenwald 4.5 km @ 7.3 % but the first 3 km are a beast at way more then 7 %.

15 km from the summit though, down a descent and to the finish line.
Be interesting to see how Bardet, O'Connor & Chaves get on. G will probably do his normal diesel his way up so we'll get a good idea of his form if he can hang on.

temperatures are down in the single digits already, and there could be some rain as well. So it'll also come down to who copes with this best.

Lukas Pöstlberger is on the attack with de Marchi, Pellaud and three more (edit: Gamper, Oka and Koishi). Today is probably his best chance of the year to get back on the radar of some pro teams.
