Sounds as if they will primarily use him as leadout for JJ. And tbh JJ is a dude he could do alot better with a proper leadout. Interesting to see if they can make it work.

Very interesting, would never have imagined Riis bet so much on sprinters and investing in riders to be a part of a leadout for a sprinter. But he is showing JJ that he has trust in him, and now it's up to JJ to deliver.

As long as there are roundabouts you'll see JJ deliver.

finally. jj is in pure speed 3rd in speed maybe after cavendish and greipel, not counting bos and chicchi since they suck too much in the rest.

with a good leadout haedo could win a lot.

How are crashes related to being injury prone? Fair, if his knee problems continue to occur you have a case but in both cases so far it was due to crashes. He looked sharp in the beginning of the Vuelta just before the latest crash.

he always injured his knee for whatever reasons, doesnt; natter what I have feeling his knee problems are chronical. he was even operated on them I think and he was 25? that's real problems

JJ Haedo is a very quick sprinter. But about as reliable as a Trabant.

I hope he can be a bit more consistent with some people to guide him around, but I'm not too optimistic.

he is actually very consistant he's just horrible at placing himself

He is not in the absolute top league of sprinters but every season he gets his 3-5 wins and since last year he also started winning in the ProTour races. In that he is pretty consistent :)

Again, that was due to a crash.

So that's one of the big names they promised?

I think Wilmann is the big name. He was introduced as a super star (superstjerne) at the annual christmas lunch.

They are only a continental team, so they can't really get any big names. In 2012 they want a small team with a lot of quality. 12 riders seems quite likely - unless something comes up (Andre Steensen, Brian Vandborg maybe? Both without contract for 2012 right now)

1. Angelo Furlan
2. Michael Rasmussen
3. Daniel Foder
4. Martin Lind
5. Kristian Sobota
6. Alexander Kamp
7. Rene Jørgensen
8. Martin Reihs
9. Rasmus Guldhammer
10. Frederik Wilmann
11. Martin Pedersen (rumour)
12. Iljo Keisse (rumour)

That's a really good team. Foder won the Danish cup (Post Cup) this year.

In the future they want to create a nordic super team that aims for the best riders from Denmark and Norway - Fuglsang, Breschel, Hushovd, EBH and so on.

Glad to see Guldhammer returning to procycling! hopes he gets it right this time :)

And Iljo, would really really amaze me, where'd you get that? I think he'll go to a ProConti belgian team like Verandas Willems or Topsport Vlaanderen again

taking a slower approach this time, probably better.

yeah bos and chichi have a pretty exceptional turn of speed, but struggle with ll the other areas.

tbh i feel bad that bos misses the olympics but I'd rather see him concentrate on the road. Not that I ever see him making the jump

Actually Guldhammer already rode Continental cycling last year at Team Concordia - but admittedly they mostly ride in Denmark, I guess Christina Watches have a more international race program.

About Keisse it's a month old rumour set to sea by feltet.dk:

I'm happy for him. I've raced with him a few times, and FYI I always get dropped because I'm **** :p
Maybe you will feel that you are less **** now because you are being dropped by a World Tour rider and not Continental rider.:D

Great news, got screwed over big time by the Pegasus debacle and deserves a chance in the World Tour.

Don't worry, usually when Ryo predicts your career will soon be over, that means you'll have a breakthrough season. Like Mollema, who would never be able to do a good GC in a grand tour because he had mono.

breschel is correct indeed but imo he hasn't really broken through yet either. and I think his knee problems are chronical and I think he will soon be end of career although 100% if he was without injury he would've been a big rider he seem exception indeed. like thomas dekker was with rabo

He has kinda broken through with victories in Dwars Door, TDS stage, Vuelta Stage, 2 x WC medals fx.

But otherwise its a good point that ALOT of Danish talents never deliver. There were big expectations to Mads Christensen, Anders Lund Guldhammer etc. At best they seem to become average domestiques.

Ironically the ones who does make it (apart from Breshel) has done it differently CA Sørensen (as someone aldry mentioned), Bak but also Fuglsagn and Chicken Rasmussen (both from mountain bike). I would like to mention Mørkøv too (track background), he is not very talented but makes up for it by being super serious. He will never be a star rider but he is a strong domestique who protected Contador well in the Giro on the flatter stages (were there any? ). Wouldnt be surprised to see him in the Tour this year. But the "here-is-the-next-Riis/Rolf Sørensen-talents" almost all seem to falter and never deliver.

The likes like Guldhammer and Mads Christensen who tries to do it the tough way by goind to a foreign team get so shocked that they never recover from that. While I do think its the right approach to go to a foreign team, they have been to "spoiled" on the Danish talent teams that they cant cope. Tbh they should go abroad earlier to get toughened, and/or the Danish talent teams seems need rethink how they are doing things.

the word is chronic not chronical.

I hope his knee injury is not chronic but he can come back as strong as ever. We don't need riders having their careers ruined by injury.

Riis prolongs with Gustov for another year. So we're up to 29 now?

Oh my. Over-the-hill-domestique who was a disappointment the entire season. He was good back in 2006 when he helped Basso win the Giro but havent really been super since (iirc)
