Yeah, I admit it's difficult to outfail those three. But maybe it's possible.

At the same time... Quick Step picked him up when he looked like a star in the making. Caisse took a cut-price punt on him after he bombed on Quick Step, but when somebody's only failed once, you can always chalk it up to bad management, motivation or just that the rider's style didn't mesh with the team's. By this point, however, we've seen Rujano's motivation crash through the floor several times. We've seen him underachieving chronically for years, only occasionally showing the amazing talent we know he has.

I'm saying, Quick Step should perhaps not have been so hasty about him in 2006, and Caisse were gambling on him in 2008. But by 2013, he's not a prospect or an unknown quantity worth a punt anymore, he's an incredibly talented but unreliable journeyman.

he's not been with motivational issues since 2008 caisse though. since then he has either shone or been injured. with some great years like 2009 and 2011. also name me one gt rider that has achieved anything by quickstep. they all fail there.

The reason why he failed at QS was because he had to ride for Savio's team till the Giro finished and he barely got any training done before the Giro, so he obviously sucked there and in the Tour for QS.

Tell me a team where Rujano hasn't failed.

If he goes to Liquigas, will they take him to the Giro as leader? It would be odd for Liquigas to not have an Italian leading the team at the Giro.

Ballan (probably), Bookwalter (probably), Burghardt (definitely), Cummings (definitely), Moinard (probably), Pinotti (definitely), Quinziato (definitely), Roe (will leave) and Santaromita (definitely). The transfer part of CQ has not been updated much lately. Odd.

I haven't read about those contract extensions, except of Ballan. Do you have a link to sources?

Roe will leave because a) He has had two tough years and b)has struggled in the pro ranks. Bookwalter was quite disappointed about about missing out on the Tour I think so I am not going to say he is definitely staying, but it is likely he will resign. Burghardt is vital to the team in so many ways, they will not get rid of him. Moinard has had an indifferent year and again I think he may very well want a 'sea change'. Pinotti only came last year and he has had some success so he will stay. Quinziato will stay for same reasons as Burghardt. Santaromita is quite good friends with Cadel and Santambrogio. With quite a few Italians in the team, he will stay.

I am not 100% sure on contracts but I am pretty sure that all these guys contracts must be up for renewal. My list was more based on logic and feeling within the team.

Hopefully he can go well there- he can join the rest of the team in attacking and that will help him get his confidence up.

You are correct. However, even in his bad seasons Rujano usually gets the odd respectable result. 2008 he had a 4th and 6th in Giro stages, 2nd in Tour de Suisse time trial, 5th in Tour of Germany. This year he was quite good in Coppi Bartali and Trentino. He is therefore less of a risk than a Devolder or Cobo-type figure. If he were French, Spanish, Dutch or whatever, he would easily have found a place in WT (or at least, good Pro-Conti) teams for the past few years.

I don't imagine they've signed him for the Tour. That race is for Poels, De Gendt, Westra, those guys. Rujano will just be swept off the road in the Tour.

According to cyclingfever, Bontrager Livestrong signed Joshua Edmondson, talented climber from GBR. Is he going to be next Dombrowski ?
