What is the maximum number of riders, 30?

Riders 2012: 28
Out: Appo, Barry, Flecha, Hunt, Löfkvist, Nordhaug, Cav = 7
In: Cataldo, Dombrowski, Kiryienka, Lopez, Rasch, JTL = 6

So they can sign 3 more:)

Do you have a good source for Cav and JTL not just being rumours?

Dombrowski the only neo-pro there, so to have 3 more they'd have to sign another neo-pro right?

WTF?! Didn´t see that one coming. This could be the make it or brake it for Rasch.
If the "health-team" can get rid off his knee problems, he should be a good helper in the spring classics. If not, he is out of the world tour for good. Braking contracts and agreement like that is never good when your looking for the next contract...

Regarding signing some young talent instead. I think Sky have several eyes on the norwegian talent pool. But the big fishes is not old enough yet. Vegard Stake Laengen and Vegard Breen maybe... but wait 1-2 years for guys like Sven Erik Bystroem, Kristoffer Skjerping and the Hoelgaard brothers
I was thinking along similar lines.

While it is nice to see an experienced rider like Rasch getting a contract with a top team, I was wondering how breaking a contract would be perceived. I hope it works, but I wonder why Sky want him.

It seems that Sky have no qualms recruiting riders with existing contracts, if they want that rider. What are the rules?

If they wanted him, why didn't they contact him before he signed a contract?

Almost makes me wonder if EBH somehow was putting pressure on them, saying that he'd leave unless they signed him or something. I don't know, this whole situation seems pretty weird to me.

JTL, just rumours... but Cav is leaving. Nordhaug was commentating a stage for Eurosport Norway during the Vuelta. He said he knew which team Cav was riding for in 2013, but he couldnt tell (obviously). This was just after the Cav-Sky-Exit rumour had started. When he says something like that, it is clear that Cav leaving.
EBH has also stated in the media that the leave of Cav will give him more oppertunities for 2013.

Correct, forgot about the neopro rule. If not Puccio still counts as a neo-pro?

He does, the rules say that you are counted as a neo-pro in 2 years. So Sky can have 30 riders.

I recall there was something on twitter. His brother or some relation wrote some tweet to someone which gave away that he was going to sky.

Is Uran under contract for next year?

Yes, he signed a three year contract when he joined in 2011.

Rogers and Dowsett are the two remaining Sky riders out of contract at the end of this year. I think there were rumours on twitter suggesting that Dowsett might leave, which would be a surprise but so was Cummings' departure last year, whereas the only thing I've seen on Rogers' future is that the GreenEdge manager thinks he will remain at Sky next year.

I thought they would do a bit more to strengthen their classics squad considering they've arguably lost their best cobbles rider (Flecha) and their best hilly classics guy (Nordhaug) but presumably they have faith in Thomas, EBH, JTL and the two Colombians to deliver some results.

CQ has Danilo Hondo going to Radioshack. Has that one been reported anywhere?

Hondo and Devolder... rather odd signings to say the least.

Probably Dani Navarro will be in a different team next year. He did an interview and about his future he told that he was only focused to help Alberto now.

I thought I saw somewhere before Vuelta that Navaro has already signed with Cofidis. So he is leaving Saxo Bank for sure.

Well, they didn't expect to lose Nordhaug so perhaps they are a little behind in looking for someone else for the ardennes.

Yes, I thought Nordhaug's departure was a surprise so I can see why the management were caught out. You can't really expect JTL (assuming he signs) to get results in the Ardennes classics in his first year at that level so the Colombians will be the leaders. There aren't really any good hilly classics guys left on the market are there?

A good team, I´m especially looking forward to see if Haussler and Lofkvist can find new motivation and raise their level back to where it once was.

Dutch newspaper reported that indeed vacansoleil is negotiating with Rujano and that rabobank is trying to acquire vanmarcke.
