Ballan will be on the market in August to all non-MPCC teams. A Rebellin-like comeback?
Back to Lampre to teach Bonifazio maybe?
teach him what? how not to be a sprinter?
Some guidance in the Flandrian classics? Bonifazio ababdonded them all this year after being strong at MSR and GP Lugano.

I never assumed anything. Obviously Lampre scheduled him as co-leader for the cobbles this year. Maybe you should laugh about Copeland, Mauduit & co instead.

Well with Porte confirming he is leaving that opens the door for a deal with Landa. He'd have a good team around him and guaranteed Giro/Vuelta leadership.

G.,Sergio Henao,Poels and Kennaugh(if he stays) won't buy this.Landa needs to prove himself at Sky before getting the full support.

What if Landa goes to the Vuelta and podiums again? That will surely prove he is ready for it. ( I presume he is riding the Vuelta).
Of course he must prove it and Sky have plenty of good riders who wish to step up however I don't believe they have riders capable of challenging for GT wins. Top 10's yes but that's different.
it's absolutely not sure landa is even leaving astana. I very mucht doubt he will. riders rarely leave astana, especially (potential) leaders
His manager said in an interview with Tuttobici.com that he'll surely leave Astana and has 3 serious offers.
Tuttobici.com also mentioned the Segafredo-Riis thing, I didn't believe it first but who knows, Saxo Bank alone won't be the only sponsor of a new Riis team.

More and more pointing toward Kwiatkowski to Sky:

Would love it, seeing the progress that Thomas has made

Even though I am a huge fan of Etixx, I think a change of scenery would be perfect for him. They still haven't figured out how to keep him in shape for his biggest goals of the year. In 2015 he was even struggeling in the Ardennes. Of course he's also to blame for this but his team did not do a great job so far with his developement. Maybe Sky can get even more out of him. Who knows? ...

Migels told today that Riis and Holm confirmed they've got plans.

Brian Holm? So the new team may include Cavendish and Martin. Team Telekom 3.0

No they didn't. They both said it would be interesting and an hounour to work with each other, and it's an interesting idea. But it's probably too late to do anything next year, and there's nothing concrete.

But I think we'll see Riis back in 2017, unless he gets a really good offer.

They talked about a management team with Riis, Holm and Aldag, with Saxo Bank as sponsor. Then they have to find a co or head sponsor.

Could be a very strong team, because a lot of riders wants to work with all the three guys. GT guys with Riis, and classic/sprinters for Holm and Aldag.

And Riis is a guy for the stage races (GC) and classics. I don't think he'll like the idea of bulding a GT team around a sprinter. I think he'll be happy with Tony Martin, but not Cavendish.

Lars Bak have also been out mentioning that he could see himself partnering with Riis/Holm in a year or two when he's parking the bike (which he plans to do while still riding for Lotto-Soudal), Fuglsang has also mentioned that he could see himself as a rider for them

Aren't Rasmussen and Riis also pals again?

I doubt there is anything to this at the moment, just a danish circle-jerk-off with people politely nameing who they think it would be fun to work with when asked.

Rupture between Nibali and Vinokourov, Alex Carera looking for a new team for Nibali . source : http://www.cicloweb.it/news/2015/07/16/rottura-nibali-vinokourov-alex-carera-procuratore-del-siciliano-smentisce-quanto-rip
Again, if my italian holds up (never a given), that was the Nibali's agent refuting that Vino told either him or Vincenzo anything of the sort. By anything (any sentece) of the sort, he was referring to the As report where Vino was reputed to tell Lo Squalo to "look for another team".

Sure, there probably is a fairly large degree of circlejerking surrounding it. But it is a whole lot of smoke if there's no fire ... and if the show doesn't start before 2017 season, then thats how it is.

There's still the possibility they just take over Cult Energy. Though, maybe that's not very likely. But it would mean they could work with an existing structure instead of creating a whole new team.

The question is whether Riis is even interested to run a team anymore. If he is, why didn't he simply took over the job from De Jongh.

Maybe he will only give his name to attract sponsorship in the end.
