CN front page news has mentioned that OGE has a marquee signing to announce, possibly next week.

Thoughts on who this might be??

Amets Txurruka :D

Nice one :)

Maybe the JVDB rumour is true? I guess it depends on your definition of 'Marquee'

Any news for Trek? Other than Cancellara (who keeps injuring himself fortunately) this team isn't of much interest anymore since Schlecket retired is it or am I missing something? Well I suppose they gave Mollema a shot this year but it didn't really pan out...

Clarke out, Amets in?

He would fit perfectly in that considering his style, but does he speak english?[/quote]

A few of the OGE riders speak Spanish and Italian - And of course the mechanics.

It's a good replacement for Clarke - At least OGE now has a mountain presence.

I think they will throw a bone at Cavendish, and if that doesn't work wait until next year and go all in to get Van Garderen.

Hardly a big ticket signing though. And frankly JVDB hasn't been in years either.

Trek claims they have a 35% chance in signing Cav.

Thanks, had read about Cav, that would help overall, just not for GC. Odd they didn't go for Landa, I guess the money at Sky is too good for him as well as support for the Giro and/or Vuelta.

He got 7th at the Tour, which is about as well as he usually does.

For some reason Cavendish at Trek sounds weird to me.

Chris Sutton is often said to be leaving Sky but no-one says where to, which I find odd. He's now a Sky tempo-setter but he has won WT sprints, beat Kittel and Degenkolb to win a GT sprint, and won one-day races including KBK. if nothing else he would be an experienced teammate for a younger sprinter like Hofland.

Him breaking his collarbone may have contributed to Cav leaving Sky, hell of a leadout man.

I guess it's just what people in general would do, because he doesn't bring in results and you don't hear about him being a road captain either. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised either, to me he doesn't seem to add anything to the squad, in contrast for example to Eisel, who is very important for positioning his leaders and being road captain.

Edward Theuns has been reported as their only signing so far, but not officially confirmed yet as far as I know.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/news-shorts-edward-theuns-to-join-trek-factory-racing-in-2016/

In his recent interview Guercilena said that they have "many young guys that we want to renew and keep on the team". A lot of their riders should be at the end of their contract, since they signed many neo-pro's two years ago, like Alafaci, Stuyvens, Silvestre and Watson. Jungels' contract is also expiring, as are the Van Poppel's. Lotto-Jumbo NL reportedly offered 1-year contracts to the Van Poppels. Zoidl and Felline have a contract until 2016.

Steegmans retired.

there is 33% chance we will sign Cavendish. And 20% Roland, 10% Voeckler, 0% Landa and Kwiatkowski , they have been signed by SKY already )

Haha, imagine not only Contador and Sagan, but also Cav in the same team :D

I'm disappointed Porte is virtually the only transfer reported so far. I want Kwiatkowski etc to be official confirmed. Why the wait?

I want Rolland to stay somewhere with lots of freedom, he's too cool to domestique: that heavy gear no breathing style is just awesome :)

It's confirmed that Amets is going to OGE but he's not the marquee signing. It looks like Clarke is leaving which is disappointing, I think that the two of them could really cause some chaos racing together.

Would really surprise me that Clarke goes to BMC now the year after Evans stopped.

I don't quite get the connection. Flakemore and Dennis are also there...

Clarke is the only friend Evans had in the peloton. They used to always train together in Italy where they both lived. Every summer I expected BMC to sign him but it never happened. And now it looks likely.

Thanks, although now I must ask: why wasn't Evans liked?

Well, who likes Evans? Aint nobody got time for that. Always hated him (probably a bit harsh, lets say not liked), right from the beginning in 2005 where I first saw him. That continued with its climax being 2008 and that Tour where he acted like a pussy, throwing punches and grabbing onto his frickin bear and his extremely unoppertunistic riding which I still to this day havent found comparable. Glued to wheels and didnt ever even consider to try something. Yea, he won worlds which was great and he showed some great racing at the notorious stage in 2010 in the Giro.... but still, to this day, the least likeable (from my perspective) rider I have come acroos in the peloton, possibly along with Gerrans. Similaraties? Wheelsucking, Australia and their girly voices which make me gringe.
