Maybe Bernaudeau's big name is Uran? He is out of contract and looking for a team with no GC leader after all.

Apparently, it's Eisel going to new Bernaudeau sponsor.

I hope this is true.Sky finally giving up at the road captain will be a good move.
On another note Clarke is still available.I'm surprised that Sky doesn't show any interest in him.I think he'll be a good signing. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/cla...a-greenedge-but-still-on-the-market-for-2016/

Would be a massive upgrade on Earle

The rumor of a come back of Chavanel with Bernaudeau is also growing.

Which surely indicates the big Europcar signing is Cavendish... Eisel is a familiar name to fans, but your last win being 2010 Gent–Wevelgem is hardly synonymous with a "big name".
This.
Eisel is a couple of levels below what most would consider a "big name".

After the signing of Alex Peters, Sky have another young British talent for next year: Tao Geoghegan Hart has confirmed he will be riding for them next year: http://cyclingquotes.com/news/geoghegan_hart_with_sky_in_2016_its_super_exciting/

Another exiting prospect for the future, but still very young like Peters, will need quite some time to adjust to the level I imagine, but Sky seems to be very keen on having some British guys on board for the future.

Bernaudeau didn't actually say 'big name' though. He said he was in contact with a rider who would 'subsantially strengthen the team'. Not sure whether Eisel really fits that bill, but I'd be surprised if he was referring to Cav. Firstly for financial reasons, and I also can't imagine that Coquard turned down moves elsewhere if Cav was joining.

I think the number of British riders was dropping beneath 50% too much, especially with Wiggins leaving, but IMO they should get a couple of hard working dudes from domestic conti teams who are in their mid 20s (who certainly wouldn't do much worse than Earle or Sutton), rather than stunting possible growth of talented youngsters. Alternatively the soccer concept of loaning a rider out could be tested: eg Peters and Hart should be loaned out to a pro conti team with a guaranteed number of race days for the season.

True. And Eisel fits the description of the non-French classics specialists FDJ want.

Cav to Europcar would make sense if the new sponsor is British.

Bernaudeau is hoping for a budget of €5-6m. Would they have enough to bring in Cav and still put together a competitive team?

For Europcar, Eisel is relatively a "big name"

No unless the new sponsor doubled the funding. I can't see it happening.
If the British sponsor was Virgin I guess Richard Branson would pay Cav's paycheck partially in addition to the team budget.

Unless with the new sponsor Bernadeau is planning a move back to WT or Cav is happy at Pro conti level, then it's doubley unlikely.

He's applied for a WT licence. But from a financial point of view, it seems unlikely.

Pozzato goes to Tinkoff to help Sagan!

Mr. Benson doesn't agree:

Daniel Benson ‏@dnlbenson 2 t.2 timer siden

@TheRaceRadio @tinkoff_saxo @gregorbrown Team said earlier this week it wouldn't happen. Just had the same message from them.

Daniel Benson ‏@dnlbenson 2 t.2 timer siden

Unless they've had a massive change of heart - and that hasn't happened in the last few minutes - Pozzato will not be signing for Tinkoff.

Goss rumoured to leave MTN. Meyer and Howard rumoured to leave OGE. Gasparotto and Henderson extend with their teams. Giulio Ciccone signed by Bardiani. Mondory leaving AG2R (not surprising after clinic stuff earlier in the season) and Jeannesson leaving FDJ, perhaps retiring. and in official CN stories, UHC considering withdrawing from negotiations with Ballan because they are MPCC members. BMC also not interested.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/mpcc-rules-could-scupper-ballans-talks-with-unitedhealthcare/

And Santaromita definitely leaving OGE

Oleg loves to sign past-it riders.

I predict that the mighty fluorescent-yellow Sagan lead-out train in 2016 will consist of:

(1) Basso
(2) Tosatto
(3) Bennatti
(4) Pozzatto
(5) Pettachi
(6) Cipolini

Or substitute the Italian worlds team of 2002. Whichever comes first.
