New news of Ion Izagirre and Ion Ander Insausti to Bahrain-Merida. That will leave a hole in Movistar, who've been very quiet in the transfer period, but having already lost Visconti, now losing Ion as well will be a body blow due to his versatility.

Plus I don't like it when cyclists are 'bought' as in this case. It will make the rich teams only stronger.
I think he wanted to leave, according to the article on cn.

I haven't seen it, but Id assume he would want to get serious with GT'''s. Thats the only explanation I can find for leaving that team with his brother also on it.

While he certainly is a quality rider he doesn't strike me as GT material but happy to be proven wrong on that one, maybe the move was simply more money and that he should get his pick of 1 weeks stage races to lead in.

Bahrein building a very nice squad to be fair. More and more likely that DD will be the ones left out.

There's nothing nice about this team. It's a random selection of mercenaries. DD is a classical team of FDJ-like proportions by comparison. B-Merida just makes me puke. The sooner this junk folds, the better.
dimension data is a laughable team, without any line in it, of which half it's riders don't even deserve to be in wt. good riddance of that pile of **** claiming to be "african" but buying a ****load of worthless non-african riders like goss, eisel, renshaw, farrar, theo bos, igor anton, cameron meyer, matthew brammeier, andreas stauff. etc
They're Barloworld 2.0. You're damn spot on!

when did Barloworld win 5 Tour stages and wore yellow, won 4 WT races (with Cummings) and many other wins?

they can afford to go pro-conti. they´ll be like Cervelo Test Team, they wont miss almost any wild card

Good signing in McCabe. Should get them a few crit wins and luckily stages in one of the big races.

In 2017, they will no longer focus on US crits but instead, they will now be more focusing on one-week international stage racing.

BTW finally they got rid of Brajko. As per hiring Haedo ... why? he is not any better than McCabe and they already have a Henderson for the lead-out
haedo will be their main sprinter of course. he's one of the fastest guy in us and on top of that outclimbs all other sprinters as well

I don't think it's a certainty that Haedo will be the main sprinter, McCabe is on the up and has a much better season than the aging Haedo

Gogl (aka Google ©Peter Sagan) from Tinkoff to Trek-Segafredo for two years.
I don't know why but there are always surprisingly many Austrians in Trek. Rohregger, Denifl and Zoidl have all ridden there and next season Brändle and Gogl too.
Anyway Gogl is a really promising talent. He is only 22 years old but has already had some pretty impressive results (he was the 2nd strongest rider of the huge break in stage 13 of this years vuelta). However I don't know if he is the kind of rider Trek needs, since he isn't really a climber but thats exactly what this team misses to support Contador.

Particularly if Cav is in stripes.

The people behind Aquablue, an attempt to set up an Irish tinged ProConti team based in France next year, are saying that they've agreed terms with ten riders and have sent out contracts to be signed. They are also saying that they are in negotiations with a large number of other riders to fill the remaining six slots on their sixteen man roster.

Anyone know who any of these riders are?

Presumably a lot of them are Irish Conti riders or young Irish prospects, but they certainly aren't all that sort of rider as there's no way you could find enough of them who are good enough for PC level to fill a sixteen man squad. There will be a number of non-Irish riders too and those will probably tend to be bigger names and more experienced. I'd guess that Brammeier will be the highest profile Irish signing, assuming he's out of contract.

Lars Nordhaug is leaving Sky, won TdY last year but has disappeared since.

Interesting!

Fenn, Konig, Nordhaug, Roche, Swift and Zandio all leaving with only Doull, Geogheghan Hart and Wisniowski in, leaving a squad of 26.

Elissonde and possibly Rosa are linked. Any others? Seems a bit short this year.

Elissonde's not just a rumour it's confirmed he's signed for Sky, Rosa won't be signing for them so you can forget about that one

Hasn't been confirmed officially by Sky yet. Rosa rumours went quiet but have started up again over the last few days!

Ruben Fernandez and Phinney would be good signings if still available.

A few months ago there was a rumour about Vegard Stake Laengen signing with them, he'd probably a good fit for the Skytrain.

Stakan turned Sky down due to "a more lucrative offer from another WT-team"

Interesting, he'd have been a pretty good signing. Any Ideas about that other W-team? Probably a team that will give him more chances to ride fo himself, but that's just my guess.

There's really not been any indications as to which team in Norwegian media, merely talk that it should've been announced by the end of the Vuelta. So possibly a bit up in the air due to DD's WT-status, perhaps?

I think he's prepared to continue to put in his fair share of grunt work as long as he's allowed to go into the occational breakaway. Although he's got a broad set of skills, none of them are sharp enough to expect anything but heroic near-wins from breakaways yet. But given some time do develop in a team like Orica, BE-Lotto or even Cannondale I would hope the faucet might open...
