Come on, Paris-Nice is not a one day. And those are two very huge races right there. Seems like if they just put their resources into winning one days, they could. Lance wins stages of the tour, why not an Ardennes Classic?

Lance doesn't win stages of the Tour, he won stages of the Tour. In this years Tour he won no staged (discounting the TTT of cause) and clearly lacked the acceleration to do so.

Paris-Nice, Huh? That would be the 1000+kms marathon, then.
So, no Bruyneel rider has one a decent one day in the past 3 years, from your info.

Don't tell me it was Big George's KBK/ GP Plouay, back in 2005?

It's a classic. It just happens to have beds in the feed zones, where the riders sleep. And give press conferences.

And sign-on each morning. Who knew?

In other news, Mathieu Criquielion (28) has retired. Not even being the son of a former World Champion can get him a new contract. Dang.

Yeah I have no idea I put that other then the fact I was exhausted last night. It was a copy and paste error from a paper I worked on last semester for my sports econ class. Just a total brain fart. I all fairness Bruyneels are not built to win one day races as Columbia or Quick Step are not built to win stage races with hills in them

I just meant he could have when he was winning the tour. He will have better luck repeating at Nevada City.

You would assume Van Summeran makes the Tour De France team. I am struggling to see who else would come into the team.

Van Summeran
Vandevelde
Farrar
Maaksrant
Dean
Zabriskie

Then who? Trent Lowe back in? Martin get into their Tour team yet? Will they take someone like Tuft or someone like Hunter? One of the young Aussies or North Americans?

He was supposed to ride the Tour this year, but a knee injury prevented his participation. So, it will be no surprise if he rides it this year.

I could see them bringing Hunter, Hesjedal, and Martin.

I'd say Hunter's a given. He was signed to lead out Farrar and they admitted as much. And given Garmin's squad selection policies (bring the best riders to the biggest races irrespective of whether they're in any form to do anything), I don't see him being left out unless he's injured.

We're a bit OT, but I'd bring Kessiakoff, if he's as good as this year.

Ya, that would be a good guess depending on what their focus will be. Kessiakoff was brought in to help Wiggins in the mountains so the question now is will they instead give full support to Vandevelde?

Though it might be that they instead just focus on helping Farrar as much as possible in which case they probably won't bring too many climbers to help Vandevelde.
