I guess some don't understand the defintion of a rival

That's what Froome did to Contador, nibali not at all. How can a man who has never proven to be better than Contador, a man who always got destroyed by contador be considered his main rival?

Nibali hasn't proven anything against Contador, facts.

Froome hasn't done that to Contador, either. His bad 2013 season isn't representative at all. Nor has Schleck. Nor has anyone in a grand tour Alberto peaked for 100%!

By that definition Contador only had one true "most challenging" rival during his career: Michael Rasmussen!

Let's look at the last time these two raced against each other on a punchy finish. If i'm correct that was 2nd etappe of the Tour last year. At that moment they were both in top form. And Nibali won. So he did prove something against Contador, Fact :)

So if we look at the most recent past, Nibali was stronger then Contador.

You are aware that Contador was over the last climb before Nibali, and that Nibali won the stage because of an attack on the flat and others not wanting to drag Sagan to the line? It hardly means he's punchier than Contador. Just see how easy it was for Alberto to distance Nibali on the first Vosges stage in the end.

Nibali won on a flat part, thanks for this amazing contribution. You're a smart boy.

Froome crushed Contador in 2013, contador was **** but still. Contador never won against froome too. So you don't know, you know with the other guys (vuelta isn't a good example), and rasmussen yea.

And in 2014 i still remember stage 2 of the dauphine, Froome is definitely close, (even maybe above) contador's climbing level.

Yep Froome was giving Alberto all he could handle and just a tiny bit more. Then Froome crashed and his season was never the same. But if he comes back with those extended seated accelerations it will be tough going for the other 3.

Of course I hope he comes back pedaling squares and both Nibali and Contador leave him for dead and fight against each other. Mano a Mano :) Let the best man win!

Oops, sorry not paying attention, has been a long day

Then I would say Nibali > Contador > Quintana > Froome
Contador / Nibali / Froome / Quintana imho

I'd say the 2013 season definitely counts for Froome

There's only one poster to blame for all this and the mods just let him do his thing. Unbelievable. I try to ignore him as much as I can but I can't just sit here and watch him troll away.

Nominations for this year's Oscars are now closed. I truly think you'll have a chance next year if you continue to improve.

i won't discount his wins and his achievements - they are a matter of record. but for his head to head with Contador, imo, i absolutely throw 2013 out :p

we'll see. i throw 2013 out but i must take it back, if Contador repeats a 2013 form in 2015. for now, i look at 2013 Contador as a one off.

as for TdF 2015 favorites on mur bretagne, i like to go with the opinion of someone i respect and won it:

agree with Carol. this thread has turned into a big sigh. but disagree with LaFlo that it is cineteq's fault. i quite appreciate cineteq's input and opinions, particularly in this thread.

use the ignore feature if you must, LaFlo. cineteq is a knowledgeable cycling fan and his opinions are not any more inflammatory than many of the anti-nibali fans who post here to take shots at Nibali fans.

Uh..... okay then.... to each their own... I know at least 7-8 members who have stated that they agree with me... so yea :)

What is your opinion on the way he keeps repeating to anyone that thinks Contador is a better cyclist than Nibali, that they should stop living in the past, are biased and/or fanboys and should "deal" with the "fact" that Nibali is better? It's very simple: all his posts are meant to provoke, in particular Contador fans. There is a name for that: baiting, or, trolling.

I agree with Cadel as well...first time I've seen the video. Thanks for backing me up. I'll try to keep it down, but I can't keep quiet when it comes to bullying and insults. THAT I cannot accept.

Stop twisting things, provoking and taking shots at people who don't share your opinion Nibali is a cycling god and perhaps people would stop calling you what you are.

add less funny and less bearable. I'm actually still hoping he comes up with the list of 30 climbers better than Nibali:D

Logical and persistent vs illogical and persistent, really. Maybe we should find a fun, ridiculous way to settle this.

as posters go you are very popular. i have noticed at least 2 or 3 that will regularly and rapidly come to your defense. and if those defenders weren't there, i would also come to your defense :) (not that you ever need defending; you do that quite well on your own)

what i am saying is use the ignore feature, it's easy.

cineteq has a right to his opinion, as you do.

We'll just have to wait till TDF! Only 6.5 months! Hopefully we won't have gone insane by that time:rolleyes:

Thanks for the link. Funny how Cadel almost discards Froome's and Contador's chances. On the other hand it's obvious Valverde will go for that particular stage win, some bonus seconds included. Quintana will have an "interesting" challenge next year in TdF.

I was kind of shocked myself, Cadel tips Nibali and next Quintana to take the whole enchilada! Very Interesting!

I don't think Cuddles has any love for Contador. Not the way Contador use to toy with him at the Dauphine and Tour de France. :p:D
