Nibali looked on Friday better than I've expected. Not that the finishing kilometer is some strong indicator, but his positioning is revealing more than he's said before the race. He has some overall ambitions.

I was also surprised. I though he would be dropped on the final stretch. On the other hand, his TT was pretty decent, so he should be in a decent condition for this time of the year.

Nibali's tt doesn't say very much. He can pull off a decent prologue even if you kick him out of his bed hungover and in terrible shape. He needs to be good in order to do something in the mountains, Contador is exactly the opposite in this regard

If he wants something from this race, which he said he doesn't have to, the only chance is today. I think there is no way he can survive on Terminillo to a Contador attack.

Did Nibali get dropped today? I couldn't see him near the top, and i think he came in a little later than the Contador group.

Dropped as expected, lol. I was worried that he might be ahead the curve too early.

Let the excuses begin, you said he was in a decent condition. Now you expected him to be dropped? Nibali in decent condition should be able to hold on wouldn't he?

Hmm, I thought he'd be better here, but I will wait for Tuesday with my final judgement. It certainly will be a fiasco if he doesn't top-5 the GC.

Hard to see how he can top 5. Vino can start writing the letter.
He was dropped in Chieti when he won in '13, so I still think a podium is possible, but 4th or 5th is more likely.

He probably will lose a min tomorrow. But who cares? I will be worried if he does something different from last year. Everything works so well for him in 2014, why change the winning recipe?

wooohh vino will go postal!!!! sending nasty email to everyone, like last year. Today there's no team mate around Nibali. That won't sit well with Vino. Maybe this licensing thing finally got under everyone's skin. At least Fuglsang sparks some sunshine in PN.

yeah his winning recipe includes Contador and Froome crashed and Quintana skipped the Tour. I would think he should change a bit his winning recipe since you can't expect the same ingredients will go missing this year :)

Oh yeah, he pushed AC and CF off the bike. And he won the second stage when AC and CF were not around.

Hahahah what is this bs people moaning about?? Nibali won the second stage over AC and CF? A stage where he attacked on the flat part. LOL

He will never climb with 95-100 % AC and CF.

And today he was just pathetic. He is doing a Andy Schleck programme, but at least Schleck was better at it.

You do realise that Nibali's numbers where equal to Froome from 2013 tour?

Ferrari:

'On the ascent to Hautacam (13.6 km at 7.8%) Vincenzo rode alone "in the wind" for 11 km, climbing in 37'30", VAM = 1696 m/h = 6.28 w/kg = 395w.'

Hence the hypothesis that Nibali actually expressed an incredibly high LIPID POWER that has allowed him to consume less glycogen than calculated above.

From the the average power outputs that he expressed (41 min above 450w) we can imagine an AT4 of at least 440W, equal to 6.98 w/kg, assuming a weight of 63 kg.

Impossible to say how it would have turned out with them in the end, but with his absolute domination of the competition Nibali has left the impression that the Sicilian would have won anyway.

Apparently without ever engaging in a full on effort, he seemed to play with his opponents on the climbs, often expressing powers between 6.00 and 6.3 w/kg (378-397 watts, assuming a weight of 63kg), never showing a decline in performance in the three-week race.'

Must be hard to accept the facts.

Schleck was better at it.. lol! How many GT's did Andy win again?

His performance this week was already better compared to what he showed at Paris-Nice last year so he is going fine.

Mindless people like you will always live in the distant past memory. Sadly reality is hard pill for you to swallow. Wake up!

Don't bother argue with AC fangirls, most of them don't even have brains to think. All they can think of are "if" "could" "would". All these people dwelling in "if" world most likely are losers in the real life.
