Let's be honest guys. He's not winning the Giro if he's this bad in the TT, especially without his only credible helper in the mountains. You can't even try an ambush with that team. What a disaster...
He needs to be the best climber in the final week to win the Giro.
I agree. Quick Step and Sunweb have much much stronger teams. Kelderman is the number 1 favourite followed by Almeida.Let's be honest guys. Scratch that.A couple of days ago people thought Nibali would lose the Giro in the TTs.
It looks like quite the opposite now.
He is behind McNulty as well. And barely ahead of Pozzovivo and Majka. And will lose more time to McNulty, Almeida and Kelderman in the last TT.
Two options left, either unleash the voodoo or throw everything at Almeida and Wilco, including the trophy cabinet.
Yeah, that's also how I see it. At least the weather is looking good at the start of the next week, so fingers crossed for the Stelvio stage. Wilco also isn't the greatest bike handler, so he could probably gain a lot of time on a descent. The good: GC situation means Trek won't have to carry the race. Win condition hasn't changed all that much. Everyone but Kelderman and Almeida within distance and on climbs like Agnello/Izoard/Stelvio Nibali should still be able to take them.
The bag: Where the *** did it go
The ugly: Nibali's shades. Nibali's ITTs at Trek. Can't really win without Stelvio/Agnello anymroe.
