He goes from nearly abandoning to putting on a show. Impressive.
When?

"I think there’s something wrong and the tests are needed for this reasons," Slongo told Gazzetta dello Sport. "If they prove that Vincenzo has some health problems, we won’t continue to scrape the barrel. If Vincenzo is healthy, he’ll go on until Turin but vice versa, it's better if he stops."

What's the gameplan for tonight? Another BB? I'd imagine it's going to be crazy tomorrow. 55 sec is a LOT of time.

He only needs 40 seconds if he wins the stage (possibly even less). That's not a lot of time on such a hard stage. I imagine whatever he has used to produce the performance today will be enough to see him home tomorrow as well.

It was probably whatever kind of meat he ate last night.

after nibs rode 2 stages where he lost time, a ds (can't recall the name now) said he lacked his normal 20-25 watts...

i am not saying anymore or less than than the watts he had obviously regained are quite consistent with the effects of one fresh bb. i mean the testimonies, the studies etc. 20 watts being roughly 4-5% of what the rider of nibali's size will be able to sustain...

Surely Chaves will fight like crazy to keep pink. He'll need to do more than he did today.

The Fuglsang comment definitely is interesting. The flak at Nibali for his 'strange recovery' is somewhat surprising as well, though, since this doesn't seem that far off his performances so far. Is it really that much of a recovery? Jens gives Nibali's climbing time of Risoul almost two minutes slower than during the TdF 2 years ago for a somewhat shorter climb - but still 1 km/h slower.

At that time, his power numbers were considered to be at the edge of the believable, if I remember correctly what was said in The Clinic at the time. Having that in mind, I wouldn't expect his numbers today to be too far off from what Nibali's shown during this Giro so far.

To be clear: no, I'm not saying Nibali is doing this clean. I'm just wondering about some of the complaints here.

Nibali works with Pantani's former doctor, Pantani's former DS and rides for unrepentant doper Vino. Never mind his previous teams!

Go figure.

I don't think Nibali said that.

oimg

Nibali's 2014 numbers were very similar to Froome's the year before, which most folks here think went well past "the edge of the believable".

Slongo did. VN said that he would finish.
