Hayter recovered very well from that crash!

And damn it was lucky those bollards seemed to be made of some rubbery material! Imagine if they had been steel... or concrete...

That 39 seconds he lost due to a crash on stage 1 will probably be the deciding factor in Asgreen not winning the race. What a shame. But okay, Hayter of course also crashed today.

Okay, a Portuguese rider from a Portuguese continental team managing a top 2 between Asgreen and B Thomas in a semi-long ITT is probably going to be one of the most bonkers results of the season.

You almost never see even ProTeam riders being anywhere near the elite in ITT's and this is a level three rider. Wow.

Hayter confirmed as the next G :p

Hopefully he won't be affected by it tomorrow. And now there's at least a chance that someone else might win the race.

Reis was a good TTer in the junior and u23 ranks (6th in the ITT at the WC in 210 & 4th in 2014), but it's still a surprise.
Efapel ride Giant bikes, so them actually having good TT-bikes probably also helped him.

Yep, that sort of belongs in a different thread doesn't it ;)

Dunno if B. Thomas was in the break the whole time. At any rate, he's in the front with Schwarzmann now. The rest of the break is still in between.

D. Van Poppel was definitely never in the break, though. He was OTL yesterday.

I think I've never seen Malhao this long. Great climb. But the racing began before the last climb, that's what made it even harder.
