My post was from before he got dropped. I didn't say he was good, quite the opposite. I'm questioning the team tactics to do all the work so early on the climb so that they 1/ effectively isolated him 2/ drove the pace when he wasn't good enough.

It's also less than a month after his Covid break.

He would end on the same position with 1 or 2 extra teammates in that big group. He didn't have superlegs but looks like he paced himself pretty well. Definitely not a bad performance after like you said his covid infection.

21st win from UAE in this season. Nearly all of these wins came from non-sprinting races. 21 wins of high and highest quality.

That is really impressive. Now, it cannot get any better for them. They have Pogacar, the best rider in the world, and they are now the best team in the world.

Gianetti and Matxin will like this very, very much… :)

Can someone explain me the Nairoman tactics please

Why wait for a sprint with Almida?

When Quintana rides like this, it's a clear sign he is at his limit. He couldn't even sustain an attack from just one kilometer out. When he does have the legs, he usually attacks from much further out. We have seen enough of him to know that attacking or lack thereof is mostly down to legs and not attitude.
