Don't think I've ever been as disinterested in a GT by stage 12 as I am now. The GC decided in the first half of the race barring major weakness from Evenepoel in the second half, no competition whatsoever for the minor classifications, Covid picking away at the field, two riders dominating the MTFs for stages and GC respectively when the route offers no scope for action outside of the MTFs. Assuming the GC battle doesn't come back to life, this will probably go down as the worst GT in a decade for me, even the Giro was better...

This is going the way of the Giro in terms of being Covid affected and endless breakaway stages, but in retrospect, the giro was awful. One excellent stage (Superga), and then that one at the end where Hindley attacked for the final 3K or so. The rest were instantly forgettable for me. This race has already had one excellent stage (six), and four was pretty decent. Still plenty of kilometres left for it to be much better spectacle?

Very generous to put Pico Jano on par with Superga, imo - the latter was a significantly better stage. Obviously it was well above the Giro MTFs though.
