They tried and i won't hold that against them. Still, considering Ayuso emptied himself yesterday and Almeida is sick. They should have instead try it in week three.

Remco wills till finish inside The Top 10 by the end of the race. Depending on how aggressive Jumbo races a Top 7 is still possible without another bad day.
I'd be surprised if he is let into any breaks in the coming stages. He isn't going to be gifted stage wins and the KOM jersey.
