I'd be surprised if he is let into any breaks in the coming stages. He isn't going to be gifted stage wins and the KOM jersey.

But who is going to stop him? Disregarding the bad day, he is an immensly strong rider who is very far back on GC. So for GC reasons, why should UAE or JV e.g. care so much? Maybe people also don't want to go in a break with him, but to secure the KOM e.g. he could probably solo for it a while. Also he is pretty handy to have in a break as he can carry it mostly on his own, so why not gamble that he's not that strong in the end and try to go in a break with him?
