Well done, Primoz! Bahrain set a ridiculous pace on Angliru dropping all top guys except JV skeletors! Remco had no chance and he probably realized it earlier (when going easy on the descent from Cordal). At the end JV guys proved to be the strongest (Landa also impressive). As expected, Primoz attacked today and didn't look back. He couldn't drop his teammates for good but Kuss at some point started weakening and was dropped (maybe it was Landa, who saved his jersey when his teammates were gone. How ironic!). Skeletor was stoic today, he looked comfortable on Primoz wheel till the very end. He missed the jersey by 8 seconds. The race is on. Ayuso and Mas crushed today.

To be fair, while I really like Kuss and want him to win GC as much as most on this forum, I always found it very awkward if team mates were gifting wins.
This is being raced fair and square, and if Kuss wins this, he won't have stolen it and the way JV is racing, it's pure entertainment; The kind of entertainment we wouldn't have if they rode this conservative.

Meh it's just all a bit weird. If Kuss wins it will still feel like it was a gift. You can't convince me Vingegaard couldn't have gone 10s faster today he looked very easy the whole way.

Vingegaard seems more uncomfortable than usual in the interview. He said he wanted that Kuss keeps the lead... But the way he rides suggests otherwise.

Well if he really wants that and means it theres one very simple thing for him to do tomorrow: stay on Kuss' wheel. basically never be in front of it. Something tells me he wont do that though

Well done Jumbo, at least fight for it and give us viewers a cycling show...
but also worrying how many weird sad minds that simply don't understand the DNA of sport and tend to be triggered left & right on somebody that doesn't even have any issues with it, and again and again, emphasized. "I don't want this Vuelta to be a gift" but it's like it simply doesn't resonate with third weird crowd.. they just wanna be offended, on somebody's behalf.

.
In no universe is it a good thing for cycling that one team gets to decide who of their guys is 1, 2 and 3 in a grand tour (or any race, for that matter).

Vingegaard had to let Rog take the win considering he'd done all the work. Anything else (like mugging him on the line) would have been very ugly.

Vingegaard could easily have pushed to try and get the red jersey. The whole thing is a bit strange. On one hand they are allowed to drop Sepp on the other hand they don’t push to actually win the Vuelta. It’s definitely getting spicy. Anyway we will get the answer soon of they will gift it to Sepp or not.

The whole sport is a clinic mate, whats the point. Now you wonder how Pogacar got completely crushed in the last 2 TDF's, there's your answer.
The point is that if the clinic talk isn't segregated then it gets impossible to have useful threads talking about the actual race. Just a forum rule which, I think, is a good one and greatly improved things from the old pre-clinic days.

I honestly don't understand why so many people are so invested in which Jumbo guy beats the other Jumbo guys. It isn't going to save the race either way.
It saves the race for me, as they could as well decide, within the team, that they stop racing against eachother and stick to the current GC standings.

They don't do that. It's kind of ridiculous in a way, but also logic and very entertaining in another way.

The race would be worthless if they didn't race against eachother, but now we have a real bike race, and if (only if) Kuss wins this, it will feel like a very satisfying result.

The annoying thing to me is that unless Roglic drops everyone by 1.5 minutes tomorrow the result was massively effected by team dynamics anyway. Kuss only ever got red because he was in a breakaway multiple teams didn't chase. But then Vingegaard was clearly behind Roglic and is now only in front of him because twice the team decided he should be the first to attack with the better sprinter, Rolgic, waiting behind. If Kuss wins this race because his teammates don't attack him, he deserves it as much as Vingegaard who is in this position because his teammates didn't chase.
So, you are saying Roglič deserves the overall victory the most? The unbiased world of cycling agrees with you...

My problem with it is that if one goes ahead, the other should pave the red jersey to the finish. Yesterday Roglic waited after his attack when he realized Sepp was in difficulty. Today when Roglic goes first, then tactically, Jonas should’ve stayed with the red jersey, but he didn’t.

That’s irritating.

Kuss is too nice ffs. The others are total assassins putting ego and themselves over the team, Kuss sacrifices all for the team.

This is the thing some people are missing the point with. If Roglic and Vingegaard don’t attack or follow someone tomorrow and they just stick with Kuss, he’s clearly going to win the Vuelta. None of the other riders are going to finish above him now. It can only be a teammate. Kuss’ problem is the egos of the two great riders.

The DS needs to say now, we are all in for Kuss, he has won GT’s for you in the past, this is his one shot. Imagine the loyalty he would have to them going forward.

But tomorrow Kuss gets dropped and Vingegaard takes Red. I honestly don’t understand why they dropped him there. Remember Froome got loads of stick for actually waiting for Wiggins, yet the Chuckle Brothers just left their mate flailing in the mist.
