Degenkolb or Kristoff for me. The only way someone else is getting it (a Belgian) is if they really make it a hard race AND they can actually work together.

Outside change for a guy like Stybar managing to get a gap and no-one chasing in the confusion, seems unlikely though.
What about Sagan? The easier race the better for him probably, and if he has form close to what he showed in the TdF and Vuelta, I'd say he's a faster sprinter than both Kristoff and Deg.

That's where we'd disagree then. I think he was, I'm not sure he currently is. Should have included him though as even if he is slower it's only a teeny, tiny bit and very dependent on how they feel on the day.

Sagan will be alone for the final 50 km. Ofcourse his chances in a sprint are much smaller than Kristoff or Degenkolb's. Though I agree that he is faster than these guys.

In a flat sprint on a easy day, Kristoff should win most of the time against Sagan.

On a hard day, they are more equal.

Out puccio and bennati, my guess...
Benna should be the road captain, taking Paolini's role.

My guess is Puccio and one between Nizzolo and Colbrelli (if not both).

Too many sprinters for Italy. They need at least both Benna and Quinziato as pacers and helpers if one of their leaders get a puncture or have a mechanical.

What are Belgium going to do? By rights, GVA should be their leader.

I would love to see GVA or Boonen win. Boonen in particular.

Was Cav specifically training for this race?

Would loved to have seen G win this, always nice to see a winner that's done well all season.

One guy who thoroughly deserves a win is Valverde, what a rider!

Oh him and Ian Stannard will be very visible on the front on the peloton.

I think the season Thomas has had he wouldnt have been up there. He must be well cooked.
