just to remind you:

(i)afld confirmed today they got everything they were after and more re testing armstrong's team
(ii) 1st search warrant issued in connection with flandis's revelations.

Just a point, but I don't think the AFLD comments were directed at Armstrong at all. They seemed more to indicate they got what they want in terms of testing at the Tour in general... or did I miss something?

yes you did miss several things.

firstly you misread 'armstrong's team' in my post as 'directed at armstrong'. a knee jerk reaction i reckon. secondly, read several posts on the topic. afld mentioned several investigations including in france. as is well known the french investigation into needles started, as was reported widely, in connection to seven astana riders dna linked to to illegal chemicals found.

hence, the afld statement i linked implied 'armstrong's team he rode for last year.

we clearly are seeing an appologist(s) not happy with the latest anti-armstrong developments - afld's success in securing more testing on him and his team and with the 1st search warrant in connection with flandis's revelations.

id like to make an observation, the noose is tightening and it indirectly hurts some posters who try to ignore the news.

Susan

Sorry Susan, I did not realize the thread I was replying to. I should have just ignored the troll. To be fair the discussion was regarding an upcoming WSJ article about Armstrong.

if you want to ignore the troll and still respond, you don't have to quote him.

+1

It actually might be hurting some posters directly.

I just read the AFLD's official response from the other thread (translated)... but I'm still not seeing it. It seems to be entirely directed at tests moving forward... I don't see anything that seems to mention retesting things from last year's tour.

I'm not saying it's not happening... I just can't see it from what's in their release in the other thread. They seemed quite pleased with the situation with testing in this year's tour... but I'm having trouble seeing the connection between that and Astana's blood bags last year. Will they be able to use DNA to link those blood bags to specific riders or something?

The possible/probable link to Astana/Caisse lies in the fact that AFLD are saying they have information from the police which they want to use to target test. OCLAESP, who are investigating Astana/Caisse from the 2009 TdF, are a partnership agency with the French Gendarmerie so hardly a stretch at all to imagine what information the police are handing over and who it concerns.

Ah... gotcha.

So they would be putting additional tests on riders from the 2009 Astana and Caisse teams this year due to the information from the police?

For this it would be interesting to see, what riders belonged to the tour selection of these teams last year and which of the riders are riding now. Than we can pinpoint how many riders are likely implicated and divide the WADA tests between them and we see how many tests each of them could probably have to do

sorry hog, but "The Lance Scandal" will blow over even faster than the Tiger Woods Scandal. Will blow over like a summer storm in the Alps...

And most Cancer Survivors are so forgiving it is not funny.
It is wonderful.

Enjoy the media frenzy while it lasts:)

ps....better the scandal comes out now versus during a political campaign.

Erin just got her settlement for $750,000,000.00. If that's a scandal "blowing over" I'm sure Lance will get what's due as well.

This is an excellent point. As the UCI circles the wagons. They want nobody but them controlling samples and data. The 100,000 dollar donation made and finally paid 2 and a half years later is also the subject of outside investigation . the UCI probably thought this game of poker was being played with players they knew and thought they had some control. Each and every police agency that comes forth with data that fits in solving the UCI's drug problem presents even a greater set of problems when the UCI states that they don't want the information . If big teams and even bigger stars were given a free pass it looks like we will find out from the press and police instead of the governing body of pro cycling.

Let me see if I can make this so a few more may understand. If she is able to corroborate things such as where the dope came from etc, then you have no point. I would suggest that as his ex-wife, she would have more information than just "yea I saw Lance give FLandis drugs. Also note that the "bitter ex" trigger being pulled only means they claim such. That does not mean a judge or jury would have to believe their assertion, and if you knew anything about Kristin, I would think you might realize that she could easily come across as credible regardless of the mud Lance's defense team slung.

All that being said, she may very well keep the "I don't remember that ruse" going.

I'd agree that she'll most likely keep the "I don't remember that" line as she has. When that much money's on the line most folks will do anything to keep the bank account full.

Tiger sure sustained a lot of damage for a scandal that 'blew over.'

The guy is ruined if you haven't noticed..

I don't care for Tiger anymore than I do LA and while I agree Tiger sustained a lot of damage, tied for 4th at the US Open isn't exactly ruined IMO.
